Huo faced personal tragedy but ultimately fought his way out of darkness, defining the true spirit of martial arts and also inspiring his nation. Discouraged by his past and in fear of falling into the enemy's trap again, he decided to move to Shanghai. Huo Yuan Jia's following a reputation grew quickly. The Japanese (who had invaded China) grew worried and began to provoke Huo Yuan Jia. Huo Yuan Jia fearlessly charged into battle and finally defeated the enemy with his courageous actions.

Huo Yuanjia is a television series based on the life of the Chinese martial artist Huo Yuanjia. It includes a subplot on the story of Chen Zhen, a fictional student of Huo Yuanjia and the protagonist of the 1972 film Fist of Fury. However, Huo Yuanjia, who is extremely perceptive, actually realized the Mizong Fist on his own. On the day when the two families agreed to compete, He used the Mizong Fist and defeated his opponent Cheng Tianxiao. Unexpectedly, Cheng Tianxiao suffered a huge blow and passed away. His apprentice Chen Zhen worshiped Huo Yuanjia as his master. A group of people came to Tianjin. Huo Yuanjia, who was highly skilled in martial arts, quickly attracted the attention of the Japanese and was hunted down. They could only take Qiannan to flee to Beijing and set up the Jingwu Sect.

The young and vigorous Huo Yuanjia was only focused on "subjugating people by force", and therefore had a rift with his father and ran away from home. When he first arrived in Jinmen, he met Nong Jinsun who secretly escorted the reformers, and Zheng Yi shot out the crisis of the agriculture, and the two became friends. Nong Jinsun persuaded him to use a good martial art to open a martial arts hall to strengthen the people and the country.
