This is the question posited by director Nakamura Yutaro at the start of his latest film, a series of vignettes that bleed into each other. Memories? dreams? Whatever they are, they belong to highschooler Hikari who, along with a friend named Yujiro, get involved with an emotionally unstable man named Takaya. Flash-forward a decade or so and they are all 20-somethings bumbling around on New Year’s Eve night. Hikari has picked up an admirer, Kotaro, while Takaya is shacked up with a young woman named Anzu. A tumultuous night together leads to a quarrel and a truly bizarre New Year’s Day. It’s not a straightforward experience as we surf through these experiences and question whether they are imagined but the feeling of airy freedom and endless possibilities at the end is pleasant.

On the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Juchitán, Oaxaca is the town of Álvaro Obregón. Here, the members of a Binniza (Zapotec) community have been under constant threat since a transnational corporation decided to install a wind farm in the sea without the consent of the community. The inhabitants resisted from the outset; they organized and created a communitarian police that controls the entrance of people into the conflict zone.

Gustavo is a wild man living at a nostalgic place yearning for the lost essence of its past. Every night, Gethsemane becomes Gustavo's scene, while he slips into the dark corners of the neighborhood. This film is a contemplation of a shared impermanence, where Gethsemane's debris bears witness of the end of a community, but also of a human being.

During their conversation, Marie sees straight through Sophie and reveals things to her that lead Sophie to deeply question her relationship with Vincent, her lover. After this Christmas Eve, nothing will ever be like it was before.

In the picture, the two worlds are peace and war, but peace is a theater where preparatory rehearsal work takes place, and war is also a theater, but at war. There is another world that stands alone - it is a play played by actors, rethinking their own experience of involvement in the war and the texts of Alexander Dovzhenko and contemporary Ukrainian authors. These worlds combine interviews with people, with those who joined the actors' trips to the east, with the military, who received the actors and became spectators directly on the front line.
