Hitler was losing the war in 1944. In the East, Russians rolled forward relentlessly, threatening the existence of Hitler's Third Reich. Hitler knew that if he were to survive, he needed a miracle. New technologies, or miracle weapons, could turn the tide of war. Against all odds, German engineers not only designed but produced in good numbers some of the best aircraft of the war, the ME262.

Found film offers unique insights into the past, but only if it is carefully preserved. The Rescued Film Project, founded by Levi Bettweiser, is an archive of images that were captured on film between the 1930s and early 2000s. Each image in the archive was rescued from undeveloped rolls of film found in locations all over the world. In this short documentary, Levi processes and restores thirty-one rolls of vintage film shot over seventy years ago by a World War II soldier. Working with vintage film poses special challenges, but Levi carefully catalogues and develops all the rolls in his at-home processing lab, as the story of this one unknown soldier emerges.

With 30 hours of programming in 10 volumes and three full-length bonus programs, the BBC History of World War II goes beyond even The World at War for its depth of scope, its breadth of analyses, and the high quality of its production values. The collection is filled with poignantly fascinating moments, such as when an aging American veteran revisits the Omaha Beach he stormed on D-Day, and meets the elderly German who, as a teenager, was defending that section of the beach with his machine gun, or footage of Hitler's early political speeches, raging promises of things to come.

FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT was released a year before the U.S. entered World War II. The ending of the film was added at the last minute to bolster anti-isolationist sentiment among American viewers.

Some individuals would be celebrated with medals but countless hundreds of thousands of others would pass unrecorded or even unknown. Outside of Britain the men and women of the French resistance, the people of Malta and countless soldiers, sailors and airmen fought bravely to rid the world of such a poisonous evil.

Follows Pentagon Papers leaker Daniel Ellsberg’s efforts to raise an alarm about the threat of a devastating nuclear war and his concerns about the United States and Russia planning for a globally destructive nuclear attack that could be launched by accident, or intentionally. Ellsberg explains the “institutional madness” of American nuclear war plans and how the Russian invasion of Ukraine has made the world far more dangerous. The documentary will trace Ellsberg’s journey from being a Cold War hawk to becoming an anti-nuclear weapons activist, a stance he held right up to his death. Ellsberg warns that the nuclear weapons arsenals of the U.S. and Russia are still very much a threat to global peace and that an all-out nuclear war remains capable of being launched from missile silos or submarines on a few minutes’ notice.
