On Black Mountain takes place at a Tibetan Buddhist retreat center in the hills north of San Francisco, CA. 22 women Veterans experience a 4-month mindfulness meditation-based workshop to confront and face the demons from their military service: of sexual harassment, rape, and abuse, gender and race discrimination, career exploitation, and the lies and hypocrisy from their commanders.

Through hundreds of his beautiful images, recollections from Jack and from Bob Pavlik, his partner of nearly 50 years, as well as interviews with luminaries including playwright Edward Albee, Broadway star Patti LuPone, critic Clive Barnes, dance greats Merce Cunningham, Judith Jamison, and Kevin McKenzie, and author/composer Ned Rorem, among others, Highberger reveals his fascinating life and the art world he documented for Dance Magazine, The New York Times, After Dark and countless other publications.

Black poetess Nikki Giovanni interviews singer Lena Horne in this special Black Journal program focusing on the Black woman. In another segment, a panel of six prominent Black women discuss the role of the Black woman in today's society. Participating in the panel are Verta Mae Grosvenor, author of "Vibrations Cooking"; Jean Fairfax, NAACP Legal Defense lawyer; Martha Davis of the Harlem Drug Fighters Union; Marion-Etoile Watson, producer for Metromedia Television (Channel 5, New York City); Bibi Amina Baraka (Mrs. LeRoi Jones); and Joan Harris, hostess of NBS's "Positively Black." Also on the program Mrs. Grosvenor's eight-year-old daughter, Kali, reads from her recently published book, "Poems by Kali"; The Church of the Shrine of the Black Madonna holds a woman's day ceremony to honor "the generations of struggle that the Black woman has made in order for Black people to survive"; during the ceremony in the church, author Sonia Sanchez reads her poem "Queens of the Universe."

Young gypsy girl Mary, is seduced by the immoral Robert Crane and abandoned. She is exiled from the gypsies and, along with her mother Zenda, known as "The Woman in Black," she vows revenge. Meanwhile, Crane blackmails Stella Everett's father into forcing her to marry him, even though she loves Frank Mansfield, Crane's rival for a congressional seat. Frank wins, but Stella still faces the prospect of marriage to Crane until Zenda comes to her with a plan. On their wedding day, after the vows are recited, when Crane lifts the veil from his wife's face, he is shocked to discover, that his new bride is Mary. Now Stella and Frank are free to marry, and Zenda has gained her revenge.

When Len Stoddard wins Ted Ames ranch in a poker game he sends his brother Jake along with Ted to take over the ranch. When Jake is found murdered he offers a reward for the capture of Ted who now is believed to be a member of the Black Aces gang. Ted finds the probable location of the gang's hideout and sets out to clear himself.
