Renowned as a live ensemble even before its first studio record, Ozomatli finally released a concert album seven years after its lauded 1998 debut. LIVE AT THE FILLMORE draws most heavily from that self-titled disc and the Los Angeles collective's 2004 outing, STREET SIGNS, with rock, funk, pop, and hip-hop elevated by the group's potent Latin rhythms. Ozomatli's performances do not disappoint; in fact, these tunes often outshine their studio counterparts, since they offer an added shot of spontaneity and energy. Ozomatli: Raúl Pacheco (vocals, guitars); Asdrubal Sierra (vocals, trumpet, keyboards); Justin "El Niño" Porée (rap vocals, percussion); Jabulani Smith-Freeman (rap vocals); Ulises Bella (clarinet, saxophone, keyboards, background vocals); Sheffer Bruton (trombone, background vocals); Wil-Dog Abers (electric bass, background vocals); Mario Calire (drums); Jiro Yamaguchi (tabla, percussion); DJ Spinobi (turntables).
In a former army fort, young Johnny learns to train and command Iron, his first attack dog.
Ever since its triumphant premiere in 1960, Frederick Ashton's La Fille mal gardee has been treasured as one of his happiest creations - his artistic tribute to nature, and an expression of his feelings for his beloved Suffolk countryside. Marianela Nunez and Carlos Acosta perfectly portray the young lovers Lise and Colas, determined to thwart the plans of Widow Simone to marry off her wayward daughter to Alain, the simple son of wealthy Farmer Thomas. Osbert Lancaster's colourful, picture-book designs, along with Ferdinand Herold's tuneful score, arranged by John Lanchbery, provide the perfect setting for Ashton's blissfully bucolic ballet, complete with haywain, pony, maypole and ribbons, a cockrel and his chickens and, of course, the famous clog dance, here wonderfully led by William Tuckett as the irascible but lovable Widow Simone.
Commencing in 1920 with Charles Sheeler and Paul Strand's creative collaboration on Manhatta, successive generations of experimental filmmakers and artists have worked in collaboration or alone to create a cinema capable of expressing dynamic unspoken concepts in totally abstract visual terms. Flicker Alley and the Blackhawk Films® Collection in cooperation with Filmmakers Showcase are proud to present this premiere collection of 37 films created by some of the most acclaimed names of American Avant-garde experimental filmmaking.

In the film the traveller’s role is taken by members of American hardcore hip hop group ONYX, whose music played in the background of Vilnius street wars just a few years after the collapse of the Soviet Union, and whose emblem, tagged any time between then and now, marks many walls in Vilnius to this day.
A 60 second film in 3 shots where a pickpocket steals someone’s money.
Music/Musical - Ben Sidran has proved his credentials as a producer for artists such as Mose Allison, Diana Ross, Tony Williams and Michel Petrucciani, he worked as a keyboard-player for Tuck and Patti, Jon Hendricks and Gene Clarke and has released nearly two dozen solo albums since 1971 - all filled with cool, swinging songs which cannot be classified as jazz, pop or blues, but take the best from all three genres.
The Factory of Gestures investigates the metamorphoses of the body language in Russian and Soviet society through the 20th century as evidenced by documentary and fiction films, private and professional photography, visual arts and theatre.
Foreign - This 8-song Phil Upchurch concert was recorded on October 28, 1992 at the Ohne Filter studios in Baden-Baden, Germany. This performance is unbashedly elegant and smooth, and his laid-back melodic lines and rhythmical grooves give his songs a tantalizing, almost erotic, touch.
In his lifetime, Thomas Merton was hailed as a prophet and censured for his outspoken social criticism. For nearly 27 years he was a monk of the austere Trappist order, where he became an eloquent spiritual writer and mystic as well as an anti-war advocate and witness to peace. Merton: A Film Biography provides the first comprehensive look at this remarkable 20th century religious philosopher who wrote, in addition to his immensely popular autobiography The Seven Storey Mountain, over 60 books on some of the most pressing social issues of our time, some of which are excerpted here. Merton offers an engaging profile of a man whose presence in the world touched millions of people and whose words and thoughts continue to have a profound impact and relevance today.
Linda Boreman's documentary 'Hardcore: A Poke into the Adult Film Orifice' chronicles the x-rated exploits of novice filmmaker Jack Innov as he gathers a cast and crew to produce his lavish sex epic 'Assanova'.
"As a contribution to Gerry Schum's 'Identifications', Beuys adapted for television the 'Felt TV' action previously staged for a live audience at a Happening festival in Copenhagen in 1966. It was the only Beuys action executed specifically for the camera. It opens with Beuys seated in front of a TV set showing a programme which is invisible because the screen is covered by felt. The boxing-gloves used later in the action lie at the ready beneath his chair."

Elisabeth Wilms(1905-1981), the baker's wife from Dortmund-Asseln, made more than 150 films from the early 1940s until her death in August 1981. She not only recorded the everyday life of her immediate surroundings, but also life in the bomb-destroyed city of Dortmund and the later reconstruction after 1945 with the camera and thus captured it for posterity. But there are also industrial, commercial and travel films as well as reports in her work.
