Water Under the Bridge is a 1980 mini series based on the 1977 novel by Sumner Locke Elliott.

A daily life in Korogocho, Kenya, one of the world’s poorest slums.

Antoine, a handsome boy in his 20s, falls for a straight best friend who does not reciprocate, and being a junkie exits the film quite early. Enter a girl, who seems to make him happy again, after he has tried living as a rent boy with men, having some familial, financial difficulties. But the girl is a junkie too.

Summertime, on a deserted river. 75-year-old Yvette is determined to obtain her pedal boat license, a way to make up for the life she never fully lived. Brian is approaching his thirties and has worked at Pedal'eau for the past ten years. Trapped in this menial job and suffering back aches, he dares not dream of another life.
