Tree

The camera was placed on the flexible branch of a tree in a strong wind. The composition included both stationary and moving trees (a wooded landscape). The relationship of this landscape to the vertical and horizontal plane was maintained as much as possible. The camera ran continuously until all the film was exposed. The world is seen from the point of view of a tree as its branches sway to the rhythm of the wind.

Personifying Mother Earth, she walks through her domain. She observes her environment and what has happened to it. She weeps. She feels violated. Not only has man damaged her but they continue to damage each other. She sighs. She will visit and start again sometime soon.

After a recent tragedy, Tom Brueggeman and his family move to the old farm where they discover a large tree that gives them cryptic visions of their future. While his wife Ellie, and daughter Katie seem to welcome the mysterious phenomenon, Tom struggles with what appears to be a vision of his own demise.

A small tree filmed on Hampstead Heath is printed out and re-edited at the Film Coop to form a formal abstract sequence bracketed by juddering naturalism. As with other films, the imagery is used away from its context as representation, as the source for an edited construction

Adam's Family Tree was a children's television comedy programme that was first broadcast in January 1997 and ran until February 1999. The show was broadcast on CITV, the children's segment of ITV. The show which was filmed in Yorkshire ran for three series and 20 episodes. The premise of the show was that 12-year-old Adam was able to call upon his ancestors from throughout history to help him solve everyday problems. The title character was played by Anthony Lewis for the first two series, before the role was taken over by Alex Cooke.
