Three

The first episode of our "Go West" series features three, prominent Arizona shortlines: the Arizona Eastern Railway, the FMI Railroad, and the Copper Basin Railway.

A man in fashionable sporting attire is standing on some large rocks at the edge of a stream. He is holding a short fishing rod in his hands and casting into the running stream. The film ends as the fisherman kneels at the edge of the water, holding the reel in his left hand while he hauls in the fish with a net held in his right hand. There are several occasions when the fisherman cannot be seen, as he walks out of camera range.

This one-off documentary, PAGE THREE: THE NAKED TRUTH, will reveal the stories of the young women who appeared on the controversial page, and how their life changed, sometimes overnight, by appearing topless in a national paper.

Using the "blink" as a visual metaphor for the often fragmented, non-sequential and interrupted nature of memory, Cho constructs a phantasmagoric travelogue. Writes Cho, "I tried to make a visual poem about traveling which contained contrary elements: manipulation and spontaneity, brightness and darkness, beginning and end."

"Life in Three Voices" follows Ensemble Adilei and the Chamgeliani sisters, both on tour in the US, and in their native Georgia. Shot in multiple locations in both countries, it is about discovery, community, friendship, and above all else, a completely unique (3-part) vocal tradition that brings together the most unlikely combinations of people from all around the world.

A necklace belonging to Mrs. Stuyvesant is stolen from Lawyer Smirney's office. It was smuggled in from China years before. Chief Knox is notified and believes Smirney guilty when he finds a diagram in his pocket, and following it, finds a necklace. Ho Fing-Tang, a Chinaman, studying law in the office, is not suspected by Knox, but Spider, a newspaper reporter, believes differently. Ho Fing-Tang is injured and in a delirium keeps repeating "Huns 764." Spider goes to the office and from a book called "Hun's 129 Reports," he extracts the real necklace. The stones Knox found prove to be paste.
