This Train

Experimental animation based on Pablo Neruda' life and poems.

Two people, a Frenchman and a Jewish German woman, meet on a train while escaping the German army entering France.

The Young Animator Training Project is an annual project launched in 2010, and funded by the Japanese government's Agency for Cultural Affairs in order to support training animators. The project culminates in a series of anime shorts produced by various animation studios each year.

The Belgian linguistics professor Matthias is going through a difficult period in relations with his girlfriend Anne. She is French, he is Belgian, and, oddly enough for an enlightened Europe and a doubly enlightened university environment, this small difference is a shadow on the couple’s personal life. One day, during a train ride, Anne disappears and Mathias goes looking for her in an unknown city.

Haru, the protagonist, once fulfilled his dream, but fell into despair. After returning to his hometown of Nagoya, he lives a life of distrust, with no particular purpose. On the last train to his late-night part-time job, he is accidentally reunites with his childhood sweetheart, Mako, for the first time in 15 years. Haru is trying to live up to the ideals that Mako, who used to admire Haru, has portrayed to him in the past, by telling a series of small lies. As he meets Mako, Haru's feelings change, but how will this lie-laced love develop?

Gajah is a forgetful elephant who is elevated from anonymity to celebrity status overnight. He ends up moving away from his old traveling companions on the Tromba Trem. His fame is short-lived, as he becomes the prime suspect in a series of mysterious kidnappings. To unravel this mystery, he will have to count on the help of his old friends from before he became famous: a group of obstinate termites who live in a colony and Dudley, a vegetarian anteater.

A film composed entirely of archival photographs and documents related to the Iași Pogrom of June 1941. The first part of the film consists of photographs of the victims, accompanied by statements and testimonies about their fate. The second part, shorter, is a montage of photos of the pogrom itself.

Friends of the recently deceased painter Jean-Baptiste Emmerich gather at a Paris railroad station for a four-hour journey to Limoges, where Emmerich wanted to be buried. The dozen travelers include art historian François and his lover Louis, who develops an interest in Bruno, whom he meets on a train. Traveling parallel with the train is a station wagon with Jean-Baptiste's body, and this vehicle is driven by Thierry, husband of Catherine, who's on the train with their daughter. François plays a taped interview with Jean-Baptiste, revealing his sexual appeal to both men and women. Lucie is convinced that she was his main love. Also on board is his nephew, Jean-Marie and Jean-Marie's estranged wife Claire. After the funeral in "Europe's largest cemetery," the story continues in the mansion of Jean-Baptiste's brother Lucien.

Ayaka is a bored housewife, stuck in a very ordinary and loveless marriage. Her only escape is to the fantasy world she creates. She begins having dark and graphic nightmares about being in prison and getting molested by the prison guards and warden. The plot thickens as Ayaka's husband's financial hardships cause both of her worlds, the real world and the imaginary one, to collide.

A fugitive girl, a stuntman and a young man who lost his dog quite some time before, are joining together on a trip to reach each of their own destination. A youngster gets emotionally connected to the girl, and he'd try to help her to leave the bossy stuntman, to get false passport and escape to Paris.

The Girl on the Train is a 2009 French drama film directed by André Téchiné. Jeanne is a young woman, striking but otherwise without qualities. Her mother tries to get her a job in the office of a lawyer, Bleistein, her lover years ago. Jeanne fails the interview but falls into a relationship with Franck, a wrestler whose dreams and claims of being in a legitimate business partnership Jeanne is only too happy to believe. When Franck is arrested, he turns on Jeanne for her naivety; she's stung and seeks attention by making up a story of an attack on a train. Is there any way out for her?
