The Sounds Of Silence

Árni Egilsson is considered to be among the finest double bass players in the world. Jón Páll a guitarist and a natural born talent. Skúli Sverrisson, an electric bass player, who at the age of 30 has gained recognition as one of New York's finerst young talents. This creative documentary in three parts is shot on location in California and New York. Fine cinematography an those three strong individuals result in a unique and entertaining television program.

Stomu and Sverrir are friends and accomplices. They have known each other for many years and have already worked together. Stomu has been to Iceland to take part in Sverrir’s premieres. During Sverrir’s tour of 15 Japanese cities in December 2005, the two artists spent a lot of time together in Kyoto and discussed creating a new project that would permit their sensibilities to meet. The aim of this film is to give us an insight into this artistic friendship. The two artists create a musical project especially for our film in which Stomu’s mineral sounds encounters Sverrir’s unique voice.

From that day on, Yoon-hee goes back and forth between herself and the dead sister and tries to keep a distance from her boyfriend Han-gi, who grows more and more concerned and tells her to quit the film. But, Kim pushes the reluctant Yoon-hee to keep working on finishing it. As she continues to shoot the film, Yoon-hee finds herself caught up in confusion as she crosses the borders between the present and the past and between reality and cinema.
