The Sound Of A Finished Kiss

It is decorated on three stages with a live performance of ‘Song of a Thousand Years, Reverse’ by the National Orchestra of Korea. The first stage is composer Na Hyo-shin's 'Like That Pine Tree', based on the theme of 'pine trees' from poet Yun Seon-do's poem 'Ouga'. The second stage is the 'Heungboga's gourd riding section' with master singer Ahn Sook-seon as a collaborator. The last one is ‘A Heavenly Woman’s Song, Reverse’, which Lee O-ryeong participated in writing the lyrics and Woo Hyo-won composed.

Every artist has a moment when he realized himself as an artist. I chose the path of creativity, chose to manifest myself through music. I discovered my gift, talent. I want to dig deep and understand — is there the same sound that started the process? "The Sound that Opened Me Up" is a short documentary about three artists who are at the beginning of their creative journey, Erika Lundmoen, the Settlers group and the Margosha group. The singing of birds, the sound of a chewed film in the player or the ocean crashing on the rocks. The heroes shared their personal stories about their formation and told what kind of sound launched their creativity.

Shankaranna’s (Girish Jatti) son Soma (Shrestha Basavraj) picks fights with everyone in the village. His anger ends up causing him the greatest grief of his life.

Professional radio announcer Soon took his apprentice Maz to the park to record the sound of crickets. As for his personal work habit, Soon didn't like to speak up, which led to an unsuccessful recording process and ultimately caused trouble.

This film exists outside of time, neither in the future nor the past. A mysterious sound echoes from a house to the south, a sound powerful enough to ignite a river. Knives lie waiting on the table. A man passes by the window, having walked for days without rest. In one pocket, he carries soil from his birthplace; in the other, earth from the destination he can never return from. His journey leads him somewhere from which there is no return.

The footage of the film shows Joniškis, Kriukai and Žagarė, places of large Jewish communities before the war. The locals remember the Jews, and tell about the tragedy that befell them during the years of fascist German occupation.

The inventor experimented with different sound film methods and apparently screened the world’s first usable sound films in Berlin in 1914 and Copenhagen in 1915. Some of these synchronized sound-on-film images survive.

From The River To The Sea To The Puget Sound is a documentary short film from Ali Abbas Kadhim. The short film examines the landscape of Palestinian activism in Seattle particularly as it is in dialogue with the corporate environment which is oftentimes guilty of the very crimes so many of the Seattle people protest. Additionally, we examine the complex relationships of pro-Palestinian employees at pro-Israel companies and the internal affairs of such Seattle based companies in regards to Palestine so as to better understand Seattle's both direct and indirect involvement in Israel.

The Sound Weavers: Ludovico Einaudi, Hauschka, Joep Beving, Hania Rani Sold-out concerts, millions of albums sold to make the classical music industry green with envy: neoclassical, as the new musical trend is called, is a mega hit. What makes the form so popular? Is this music skillful or just comforting? Are its composers Mozart 2.0 or rather maestros for the masses? Do they build a bridge to the musical past, allowing our ears to roam comfortably in familiar territory? The documentary traces the journey of some of the protagonists of the genre by telling their stories, and seeking answers from sociologists, neuroscientists, musicologists and even marketing experts. But above all, it allows these creators – these weavers – to have their say.
