This documentary was filmed in Ishinomaki, a city with a population of about 170,000 in Miyagi Prefecture, located on the Pacific coast in northeast Japan. The mega earthquake and tsunami on 11 March, 2011 devastated the city leaving 3,943 people dead or missing. Among them, 182 were elementary school children. With an earthquake and tsunami that no one had experienced, at that time, how did those at the school judge, handle, and act on the situation? What did the teachers do? How did the children react? What did the parents and family members of the children do? 37 people affiliated with Kadonowaki Elementary School in Ishinomaki were interviewed about the events of the day of March 11 from 2:46 to the following morning.

His original works include Shank’s Mare (performed in the DFT in 2017). He has collaborated extensively with other puppetry companies, including War Horse by the Handspring Puppet Company and Dan Hurlin’s Obie-award-winning Hiroshima Maiden and Disfarmer. In The Great Zodiac Animal Race—a live-streaming puppet show that will be projected on the DFT's giant screen—Lee retells the classic tale with shadow puppet animals inspired by Asian languages and pictograms in a film suitable for all ages. One hundred years ago, Western North Carolina was hit by the worst flood in its history, the Great Flood of 1916. As a result of the tail end of two hurricanes within days of each other, hundreds of mudslides caused catastrophic damage and loss of life, the Swannanoa River was a mile wide and the French Broad River was 17 feet above flood stage. But the Great Flood is more than a history lesson. Its also a cautionary tale of where we build our homes, how we live our lives and what we do to protect ourselves and the environment the next time nature raises its ugly head again in a flood prone area like Western North Carolina.
