After 20 years of wandering taiga weather stations searching for a suitable place for having a life, Nataliya and Yuri Usovy settled on Olkhon island, on a remote weather station. They thought to find happiness here.

One morning, the body of a sailor is found lying on the beach, washed in by the tide.. With no witnesses or any sign of the dead man’s boat, Inspector Leo Caldas begins immersing himself in the town’s seafaring atmosphere as he endeavours to shed light on the crime. He finds himself among men and women who prefer not to reveal their suspicions to him. But a sudden discovery sets him off in an unexpected direction.

This documentary follows Huang Yuechuang, a 77 year-old cormorant fisherman who is the last of his generation to carry on the traditional type of fishing in rural China. Yuechuang has recently become a well known personality online since a photo of him won a Sony Award in 2012 and he is determined to show the world why it is important to keep his family tradition alive.

Meanwhile, In-soon (Park Noh-kyung) is mutually in love with Chun-suk (Park Hak), but torn about the suggestion of Ok-bun (Chun Hyo-bong), who lives in Seoul, to join her in the city. In order to get a job and pay back her father's debt, In-soon follows Mr. Jang's son Chul-soo to Seoul, not knowing that he harbors illicit intentions toward her.

In the Far North, the young wife of an Eskimo fisherman dies in an accident. One day, an inconsolable widower goes hunting and accidentally catches a skeleton, which turns out to be the remains of his wife. The fisherman resurrects his wife with the power of his love.
