A graceful experiment in classical storytelling, Kris Project I deconstructs the narratives of the Indian epic poem Ramayana (which narrates the struggle of Prince Rama to rescue his wife Sita from the demon King Ravana), combining it with other folklore of the Malaysian peninsula. By separating sound and image and combining footage from various sources, Au Sow-Yee displaces time and space and questions historical narratives and memories.

Ren Yi Fan (Kimi Qiao) is an employee at an advertising company. Three years ago, his girlfriend, Chen Qing (Cassie Zhou), suddenly left him without a word and every day for the past three years, he would go to their meeting place and wait. He hadn't waited out the full three years, only to find a woman who faintly resembles Chen Qing, and this person is Ye Lin (Yuan Shan Shan). Ren Yi Fan decides to start his life anew and the two hit it off. Unexpectedly, he finds out that Ye Lin is his company's new boss and she's also the younger half sister of Chen Qing (different mothers). Chen Qing, in order to take revenge upon her father for ditching her mother back then, steps back into Ren Yi Fan's life to compete against Ye Lin with Ye Lin's competitor, Ji Xu Gang (Yuan Wen Kang). Ultimately, people lose and gain and realize that love is greater than hate.

In this talk, Li Hongqi reviewed his transition from fine art to cinema, and his aesthetic and philosophical exploration from his early 'So Much Rice' to recent 'The The'. Dir. Li Hongqi also shared his strong anxiety of his existence(born with melancholia), his thought on cinema art (actually, I don't think there's any movie worth making), his epistemology, his religious view, his consideration on contemporary cinema, and what he learned about living in seclusion.

The film visits the people and land damaged by pursuit of atomic power both as weapons as well as sources of energy around the world and questions the future of nuclear age.
