Apart of our ongoing series we bring you SPIN from the book of TWIST.

Wannabe actress So-ra always fails in auditions and she doesn't think it's her acting that's failing her, but she's just unlucky and that there's something wrong with the directors. One day on the way back from a disappointing audition, she meets Seung-hyeon, a guy she used to act with. He invites her to the site where he is filming a movie and she is surprised by his acting skills. Coincidentally, So-ra gets to fill in for an actress who didn't show up and the filming becomes a disaster because of her acting...

"The New Book of Mountains and Seas" is composed of a large number of ink paintings, which are finally produced into animation form. The title of the work is taken from the ancient Chinese mythology classic "Shan Hai Jing". In addition to studying the interaction of ancient and modern Chinese culture, the "New Mountain and Sea Classic" and similar works have a dreamlike effect: the clearly depicted images composed of incredible narrative techniques faithfully present the illusion of the world around people. The work strongly condemns environmental degradation, social collapse, and large-scale urbanization. The connection with reality strengthens its political significance.

In the film’s own words, "the objective is to recreate in five chants the synergy that generates revolutions." In 2018, a wave of protests toppled the political oligarchy that perpetuated power for over a decade in Armenia, in what became known as the Velvet Revolution. Thoughtfully staged and split into separate acts, or "chants," each is a film unto itself—microcosm, self, home, society, and macrocosm. Experimental elements are used to suggest connections through images, while voiceovers and text overlays provide historical and social context to the images.

It's a new journalistic form. Comic Books Go To War explores the journalistic, aesthetic and political implications of reporting the most violent and terrible of human experiences through "comix."
