Part 7 in the Gambling Den series. This time Koji Tsuruta is a gambler who feels sympathetic towards a woman whose naive husband is driven to a debt trap by a rotten gambling den owner (Tatsuo Endo) and his dishonest card dealer (Isamu Nagato). The plot is standard stuff and features too much talk, but there's also a decent balance between melodrama and lyricism in the form and storytelling. Tsuruta was a perfect fit for these kind of roles, with the stoic and emotional sides nicely mixed in his screen persona.

Certain Emotions (Belli Başlı Duygular), a 2024 short film by Cem Kamil Dede, explores the inner thoughts of a 16-year-old boy grappling with existential questions. In just three minutes, the boy's monologue expresses a nihilistic view of life, love, and the fleeting nature of emotions. He challenges conventional ideas of happiness and relationships, revealing a deep sense of isolation. Shot with minimalist cinematography, the film's raw honesty and introspective tone capture the emotional struggles of adolescence, highlighting universal themes of alienation and disconnection in modern life.

Pretty Oshige is deceived by her first love. After this, she lives a hard lifestyle, working at a number of jobs. Her only pleasure is her nephew, who eventually becomes a merchant marine. When Oshige meets her old love ten years later, she is able to forgive him and even thank him for the path her life has taken.

But during the course of the evening Linda stretches the groups invisible social rules of hospitality. Contempt starts to grow, thus unfolding the groups hidden prejudices.

A certainty for each probability: the documentary is at the same time a history lesson and an ideological warning sign, the director’s endeavour permanently draws our attention to the functions of the propaganda film, yet without tarnishing the fascination that dwells in the core of the images, that of the figures that wave at us from a past buried in commonplaces and political parti pris.

The documentary, black and white, has "space" as theme, both as an abstract category and as a scope and "scene" of human relations.
