Daniel loses his wife and son in a car accident. While slowly recovering from his injuries, he rebuilds his son's video camera that was destroyed in the crash. Infused with power from the moment of the crash, the camera develops the ability to stop time when Daniel presses the pause button.

Suspension is an early piece from 1997, my first solo video work investigating media imagery. 100 still images of various models and celebrities taken from magazines were videotaped at fixed intervals. This material was then distorted and broken down through a process of recording and re-recording, gradually corrupting the analog signal and causing the images to become interwoven and unstable. With an original score improvised in real time by Jason Kleidosty during the final pass of image processing.

After numerous exhibitions of the black art by the magician, he causes a handsome young woman to appear suspended in the air. She slowly turns until her head is pointed towards the floor and her feet toward the ceiling. She revolves in both directions, as though on a pivot, with apparently nothing to hold her.
