A letter and newspaper clipping sent by her mother, make her return to her village: Dee’s mysterious pregnancy, her mentally handicapped sister Dewi finds her parents' home situation has not changed. What has changed is the pregnancy of Dee and the always changing view behind the large window of the house. Dewi then knows Priyanto who is just a year living in the village. They make an unusual love story. Joko, Dewi’s old friend, is jealous. The arrival of Dewi reveals his unfinished past.

She had been detained for a week pending imminent deportation though she had done nothing wrong. It was devastating, but luckily she was released before she was deported. Here we follow Wilson as she returns to Jamaica for the first time in 50 years, trying to make sense of her place in the world and rebuild a sense of security and belonging.

Although his father discovers this horrible coincidence when he meets his wife after the war, he keeps this realization secret. Eventually his father has a breakdown, confessing his tragic story, forcing Ben to be torn between his love of his parents and internal feelings of betrayal by his own fervent efforts to assimilate.

"What started as a COVID response film and because I missed a street in NYC evolved into a diary jukebox essay on navigating connection and healing. I wanted this to be my first truly 'positive' film. If Jonas is insanity, then this film is searching for serenity, acceptance and peace. Also the first film where I truly let go of trying to impress and let all the ideas and influences in. Centering the film—and unusual for myself—is a narrative performance by Lisa Naso that can be read in several ways (since this is a WIP I don't want to give away too much). It is the longest film I've made in 5 years. The archival footage of Jim Hubbard and ACT UP alongside an interview with my professor and activist/scholar/filmmaker Alexandra Juhasz creates anchors that expand conversation of intimacy, care, and community."
