Streaming The Rec

The small recording device named REC lives all alone in an abandoned attic when a bird appears at the window. REC is really excited and wants to talk to it. But when the bird hears REC’s “voice” it flies away in terror. Now REC tries everything to record the bird’s beautiful song. Time is running out, because its battery will soon be exhausted.

This short documentary (the second of two parts) follows Glenn Gould to New York City. There, we see the renowned Canadian concert pianist kidding the cab driver, bantering with sound engineers at Columbia Records, and then, alone with the piano, fastidiously recording Bach's Italian Concerto.

Based on the true story of writer Kang Chang-rae. Da-jung used to be a sweet working mom, but as colorectal cancer strikes her, she gradually becomes unable to eat. Da-jung's husband, Chang-wook, has never cooked before, but he begins cooking to take care of his wife's health and meals. Chang-wook handpicks decent ingredients and tries to develop healthy recipes to make a precious meal for his ill wife. Although he may be clumsy sometimes, he begins to realize how to treasure the time cooking and having a meal together with his family.

Alin is a dwindling actress unable to compete with younger rising starlets. When she is approached to do a cooking show “Soot Aroi Gap Alin (Delicious Recipes with Alin)”, she accepts, hoping it will save her career and also to bring her closer to the owner of the show, Anucha. One problem, she can’t cook. She hires Din, a foul-mouth chef, for cooking lessons. Slowly she learns how to cook and her show is a major ratings hit. Also at this time, Alin develops a personal relationship with her cooking teacher, not a romantic one. She begins to consult with him about her life and love. As her relationship blossoms with the man of her dreams, she begins to question about the relationship she has with her chef. Though Anucha is the man of her dreams and can give her things she superficially desires (glamor and stardom), Din makes her happy. Who will she choose?

This documentary short film was produced by the United States Army Air Forces' First Motion Picture Unit as a training film for American pilots and other personnel during the Second World War. In it, the Air Corps' CG-4A glider is demonstrated in its cargo- and troop-carrying modes. Takeoffs, landings, and flight/towing characteristics are described. The principal function of the film is to familiarize the viewer with the shape of the glider, so that it can be recognized from any angle and not mistaken for enemy aircraft. The glider's long boxy shape, square-cut wings, rounded tail, and detachable wheels are explained with diagrams augmenting the photographic view of the aircraft from various viewpoints.
