Streaming The Mask

Director and Writer Eric Dow ("Honor in the Valley of Tears") brings us his second documentary as he goes behind the scenes of the fan fiction short film, "Batman: Dead End." A young man wakes up in the middle of the night to a strange noise. When he starts to explore the house, he is unknowingly stalked by a creepy figure wearing a white mask, who stalks the boy throughout the short, and seems to have some sort of paranormal ability.

A masked girl sits in a store window in New York, writing cards to demonstrate a fountain pen. Everybody is curious about her because she is so pretty, and she becomes nicknamed "the Angel in the Mask." A certain boy from the country, Bob Singleton, chances to pass the window. He is forlorn because he cannot get work. The masked girl holds up a card, on which is written a word of friendly encouragement. At the boarding-house where the boy is staying a robbery and murder are committed, incriminating evidence is found in Singleton's room, and he is taken to prison.

Darryl Hell's interview experiment with Douglas P. took place amongst the rumbles, hisses, and thunks of the belly of a New York City skyscraper...during a harsh January 2005 blizzard. This would be the first time Douglas would take part in this type of interview project. Its flow replicates a meandering day-long conversation that was held between Douglas P. and Darryl Hell at Mindswerve Studio, New York City, in 2004. Their many life experiences in 1970's, 1980's punk rock, made for a fertile ground. Hell's vision for the project was to give Douglas a chance to fully articulate himself without the boundaries of the traditional interview format. The result is a roller coaster ride through Douglas' life from childhood into the future.

An old western town is populated entirely by cute young Catholic schoolgirls and shotgun toting nuns who have killed off the entire male population, the nuns teach their female students that all men are evil. The girls are championed by a superhero named "Panty Mask" who shows up wearing a leather bikini and a pair of leather girls' underwear on her face. The nuns worship an ice carving of Christ which has the ability to make their soft drinks cold (which they don't share with the students).

A man is casually on a walk but finds an old Halloween mask on the street, should he put it on or leave it? Something isn't right about this mask...
