On November the 4th 1969, Carlos Marighella is caught in an ambush and killed by the bullets of 80 policemen armed with revolvers and machine guns. He was considered public enemy number 1 by the Brazilian military dictatorship, which believed that it could quell the urban guerilla movement by liquidating him. This movie, made after his death, reconstructs, through interviews with road companions and friends, the life and political struggle of Carlos Marighella.

Brendan is a janitor at a university who has a fondness for gambling, especially betting on horse races. As the film progresses, Yukio goes to see a counselor to try and figure out his phobia and discover his deep repressed thoughts about his wife. In comes Akemi, Yukio's ex-girlfriend from almost a decade prior. Akemi is unhappy with her marriage and seeks the warm embrace of Yukio, which only furthers his descent into madness.

Ventriloquist Jerry Morgan has failed with another love affair. The reason: when the relationship reaches the point when it is time to discuss marriage, his two dolls become mean and jealous. Morgan's dollmaker Papinek is a member of a spy ring who has stolen the secret plans for the top-secret Lafayette airplane. Since Morgan is leaving for Zurich the same night, he decides to hide the secret plan in the heads of the dolls.

With both of their jobs in jeopardy, the doctor has an idea that could help them both: “remotely guided” by Pierfrancesco via wireless headset, Mario will visit his patients, and they’ll also carry out Mario’s delivery in Pierfrancesco’s car. After a range of daring (mis)adventures, they will learn to support each other, and the night will end with their lives both changed for the better.
