“Small Wild Plants and Things I Don’t Know” is a short animated journey through the state of solitude (or rather, isolation). As the outside world becomes more strange than comprehensible, the inner structures of language, of the self, of what exist, strip from meaning. At that moment there is an opportunity for an (almost) unmediated glimpse through the world of senses, which creates a different state of understanding and gives a new sense of being to oneself.

Directed by Tonia Selley, Dead Men Don't Tour was first broadcast on SABC 3 at 9.30pm on the 5th July 2001 just after 'Ripley's Believe Or Not'. This film features wonderful concert footage, backstage antics, interviews with Craig Bartholomew Strydom and Stephen "Sugar" Segerman, Rodriguez and his family, the promoters, the fans and the musicians. All live footage was filmed at the concerts in Pretoria, Durban and the Blues Room in Johannesburg.

It is told through stream-of-consciousness storytelling (inspired by filmmakers like Joel Potrkyus + Matt Johnson) with no real rhyme or reason. It's all over the place. But that's kinda the point. It Don't Cost Nothin' to Say Good Morning 1994 is an award winning documentary film directed by Kenny Hotz and Spencer Rice. The film is about the life of a homeless man, known only as "'Shorty' Gordy", who was a beloved but drunken, potty-mouthed panhandler, which was filmed over three years, covering Gordy's life and death. The movie premiered at Palm Springs Film Festival, Cinéfest, the Worldwide Short Film Festival and won best short at the Hot Docs Film Festival.

In the late-night-early-hours of the morning, Gary has an existential crisis; he questions the meaning of life, much to the annoyance of his level-headed partner Meg, who attempts to calm him down.

Junior Wells, who died in 1998, was a superb harmonica player and singer who enjoyed a long and fruitful association with guitarist Buddy Guy, had some great solo recordings ("Hoodoo Man Blues," "Messin' with the Kid"), and was a worthy successor to Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and the other blues masters who preceded him. All of which comes across in Don't Start Me Talkin'--provided you're willing to hang in there long enough to get it. Hampered by poor continuity, too many talking heads (apparently the filmmakers failed to heed their own title), deadly dull voiceover narration, and a paucity of music, this 88-minute profile of Wells is half over before it takes off. After that, there's a lot more music, including a performance with Guy (whose partnership with Wells is memorably described by Dr, John as "Siamese twins, sideways") and a live version of "Hoodoo Man Blues."
