Winning Streak: Dream Ticket was a weekly Irish game show in which five contestants play a number of games to win cars, holidays, and cash prizes up to €500,000. Broadcast on Saturday nights between 13 September 2008 until 6 June 2009 on RTÉ One, the game show is among the channel's most popular programmes, often ranking among the top five in the ratings. However, there was a significant drop in viewership in the 2008/2009 series. Prize money for the show is funded by the Irish National Lottery, with entry to the game based on National Lottery scratchcards. In 2008 the show was revamped and rebranded Winning Streak - Dream Ticket. There were new presenters, Kathryn Thomas and Aidan Power, a new set, new games and a completely new and updated format. The set is now bright and modern, but is inspired by a retro 1970s style, with a light up "disco style" floor, and a "funky" glittered backdrop. There are viewer text competitions and audience prizes, with five players being guaranteed at least €20,000 for their participation and one of these has the chance of winning €250,000. The programme is now available to watch worldwide online. With these updates the show has gone through the most changes in its history.

The game show began on 21 September 1990, and has been hosted by popular television personalities Mike Murphy and Derek Mooney. Mooney stepped down as the show's host at the end of the 2007–08 season. The 2008–09 season was rebranded Winning Streak: Dream Ticket and was co-hosted by Kathryn Thomas and Aidan Power. They were the first duo to host the programme and Thomas was the show's first permanent female presenter. Aidan Power stood down, after the 2008/09 season ended on 6 June 2009, because of his commitments to the RTÉ Young Peoples Programme The Cafe, as well as presenting on The All Ireland Talent Show in early 2010. Marty Whelan stepped into Aidan's shoes, co-hosting the 2009/10 series with Kathryn, which aired from 12 September 2009 until 29 May 2010. The current series, now in its twenty-first season, commenced on 4 September 2010, again with Kathryn Thomas and Marty Whelan at the helm. Kathryn was then replaced with Geri Maye.

An exuberant little donkey lives for one thing: the joy of racing at top speed. But his mother, cautions her son to go slow and use care, for misfortune may be just around the corner. When the son tires of his mother's lectures, he leaves from home, dashing off into the desert. Meanwhile, a heinous villain enters the picture, and he uses Mother Donkey as a beast of burden. The little donkey comes back years later to find his mother missing. When the donkey learns what has happened, he dives into action, using his irrational behavior to find his mother. Then, using his superior speed and strength, he gives the miscreant a sound trouncing, thus liberating his beloved mother. The short ends happily with mother and son basking in familial bliss, and Mother Donkey reluctantly acknowledging that extreme caution is not always the only path to righteousness.

Andy Lanning, a peace-loving blacksmith, rescues Ann, the fiancée of Charles Merchant, from a runaway team. When the town bully picks a fight with Andy, he knocks him unconscious, and (thinking he has killed him) Andy rides into the hills. Merchant, jealous of Ann's admiration for Andy, bribes the sheriff to kill Andy, who has joined a band of outlaws in the wastelands. Forced to defend himself, Andy kills the sheriff, but later he saves the new sheriff's life and forces him to hear his story when he is placed in jeopardy by the outlaw band. Meanwhile, Ann, who has broken her engagement to Merchant, engages a lawyer to clear Andy, and he returns to find her awaiting him.
