During a lunar eclipse, seven friends gather for dinner and decide to play a game in which they must share with each other the content of every message, email or phone call they receive throughout the evening.

Shi Qi is a talented and good-natured artist who, during one of her painting assignments, learns of an affair between the chancellor’s cruel and exploitative daughter, Shen Qin, and the ruler of the realm, King Ning. Shen Qin, however, is engaged in marrying the powerful general Xiao Han Sheng. But when Shi Qi accidentally witnesses deadly and nefarious goings-on at the court, she finds herself drawn into trouble. Shen Qin devises a way to enlist a magician to swap her face with that of Shi Qi – so that she and the painter can switch identities. As such, Shi Qi ends up engaged to Xiao Han Sheng, while Shen Qin takes up the painter’s identity. But the “real” Shi Qi has already crossed paths with Xiao Han Sheng many years ago – even though he has no idea who she truly is now.

A “doppelgangers” website has facilitated the connection between two complete strangers that look like identical twins. Law firm partner Ko Sau-shing tracks down his former lover Yu Fung, whom he has not contacted for ages, online, and Yu Fung is looking for a part-time boyfriend with a similar appearance to him. Sau-shing arbitrarily approaches applicant Mo Kei-nam, who is a dead ringer for him. The duo also covertly agree to swap identities for two weeks. Sau-shing plays the role of Yu Fung’s “substitute lover”, and deadbeat Kei-nam disguises himself as Sau-shing while simultaneously dealing with his wife Lee Chi-ying and father-in-law Lee Kwun-hang as each and every crisis at the law firm is handled by him. While the identity swapping deadline looms, this pair of lookalikes are eventually shocked to realize their mutual life trajectories are already different from their expectations.

Naho’s husband Kazuki is similarly involved in the world of art as the third-generation owner of an art gallery in Ginza. Even though Kazuki loves his wife, he is also jealous of her talent at times. No matter how much effort he puts in, she is the one with the discerning eye. To get away from the bustle of Tokyo, a pregnant Naho stays in Kyoto for an extended period. But despite the arrangements made by her mother Katsuko, living in an unfamiliar place makes her feel like a foreigner. One day, Naho comes across a painting of new green leaves by an obscure artist called Shirane Tatsuru when she stops by Minoyama Shungo’s art gallery and finds herself strongly attracted to it.

The seven old friends decide to come together for dinner. Everyone is seated at the table, chatting, eating laughing accompaniment. During the meal, it is decided to play a game. The game is pretty simple; everyone will put their phones on the desk, every incoming message and notification will be read aloud. Their relationship begins to deteriorate. The group who thinks they are very close friends for so long are in fact alien to each other.

Meanwhile, Man-sum is torn between his new love and wedded wife. And he is worried about Ching-tin recovering from amnesia as the situation could get out of hand.
