In the Aysén region dwell a population of 90000 isolated souls sharing the harsh landscapes of an area about the size of England. Here where beauty seems to be on first-name terms with fear and danger,in a place where the immensity of nature can never be dominated, the setting hesitates, along the expanses, between sparkling colours and the black and white of the snow and the water. The day-to-day images intermingle with a story of mythological aspect; that of the timeless quest for the Lost City of the Caesars, a city of gold built 500 years ago by the conquerors.

One of the earliest exploitation films from South Africa, directed and produced by independent film maker Pierre D. Botha. This is a classic example of a ‘restless youth’ film. The action takes place in Johannesburg (The Godless city of the title) and focuses on the youth sub culture of the ‘Ducktails’ (“a white youth gang subculture which emerged within post Second World War South Africa. Rebellious, hedonistic, apolitical and showing little respect for the law, education or work”).

The film tries to demonstrate the way to regain possession of the city not so much with physical interventions but with behavioral and mental operations. "To live is to be at home everywhere: the phrase, almost a carousel slogan, opens the film as you start a poster, a sort of password to which the smiling face of Ugo La Pietra - all intent on the street making the beard reflected in the glass doors of a large door - offers the evidence of the images. The eleven-year boy lives in a usual family of a big city. As well as many modern young people he has got a loneliness problem. But this man is unable to be friend; he's infantile and can't appreciate any relationships.
