Uranus City: the last outpost in our solar system. The rarely visited and near-empty space station 'Sage' orbits the city and its inhabitants. Two remain stranded on board, a human called Jemima and a bored and lonely alien tourist called London. Oblivious to the danger, they missed boarding the last escape pods to evacuate the station's population to the city below. London's unresisting affection for Jemima is tested when she comes up with a plan to escape their situation, whether he likes it or not. The short is a stop motion film, animated with characters made with armature bodies and hand-drawn replacement faces, and sets made primarily with cardboard.

This is one short piece in a collection of 15 that will explore representations of consciousness. Retrograde Premonition looks and sounds like floating mind, the vicissitudes of thought, feeling, and the senses. Not limited by the portrayal of actual events, this video works to encourage a roaming consciousness through images and sounds that may or may not be present. Pierce shoots these videos with a digital still camera hand held at long exposures and then weaves the stills into video shots. Each individual image bears the mark of time from motion blur, a blur that may in fact contradict the apparent motion of the frame. He composes the entire sound scape once picture editing is complete.

Midnight sharp. Two radio journalissts host a dull cultural program. Lights are switched off. A gang of women invades the studio to broadcast a message: “One, two... One, two... This is a coup!” Venus Retrograde explores an erotic, queer coup d’etat through a campy aesthetic and futuristic themes.

Mercury's Retrograde is an inner dialogue about seeking answers, presented in a comic and lighthearted way, concealing a deeper, tragic truth of our generation.
