Regarder Maiso

This film was made in the summer of 2015 on the occasion of the exhibition "A Tribute to Le Corbusier" at the Villa "Le Lac" in Corseaux. We have recorded a visit to the Petite Maison of Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret in moving pictures and an audio track but without explanations. The film is patient, calm and curious: we hear the sound of steps, reverberations from the street nearby, doors and cabinets being opened and closed, and we see the flexible ways in which the house and its furnishings might be used. It is an attempt to illuminate and elucidate the lively “jeu, savant, correct et magnifique des volumes sous la lumière”.

Michèle is accused of the murder of the child she had with her brother, with whom she lives. The few years she spends in a psychiatric clinic do not cure her.

Using home movies of his family and of street views, the director traces his childhood in South America, his origins as a Polish Jew, and his relationship with his mother in a film version of a personal journal.

The Blue House, is an artistic and sublimation approach of a migrant who lives in the Jungle of Calais. It is a chronicle of the life of a nomadic artist, constrained to immobility. It is an attempt to leave traces on ports, enclaves, deltas, borders, transformed into places of desolation and detention. A refugee is a person who resists disappearance. Alpha explores the world through his art. It is a journey between two journeys, between two worlds. It is a journey to overcome. It's a journey to end the flight.

When Killian, his childhood friend, dies and he hasn't seen him in 15 years, Ludo returns to the for 15 years, Ludo returns to the neighbourhood where they grew up to visit the mother of the deceased. As he spends the night there there, he remembers the last summer they spent together, in the shadow of the disturbing house next door.

From the outside we can not see anything, inside we hear everything. In the distance the roads are closed, when closely open the possibilities.

Slowly, the steel jaws devour the old tower. An ancient owner rushes into the rubble, chasing children unwary. Then began a strange journey into the heart of this 'house' which shelters so many memories...

Patrick Straumann's commentary "La Maison Fassbinder" is a scientific text and strongly based on French film semiotics as initiated by Christian Metz and thus indebted to structuralism in the tradition of De Saussure until Barthes and Levi-Strauss, searching in literature as well as in film recurrent topics, structural parallels, symmetries, Syntagmatic connections as well as paradigmatic variations.

Documentary about famous artists such as Dunoyer de Segonzac, Masson, Miró, Naly and Treemois who continue the tradition of colour engraving and produce rare stamps for high class books.

"I had not only to pose before Chrismas crib like most children; I also posed before cottages, dolls houses, music box houses, lamp houses, cake houses, money-box houses and China-houses." In the same house a mother wonders if she will eventually have a place of her own ; a daughter sticks to her little world ; a father is satisfied with building sand castles. But will they dare to leave?

The film began as a record of the painter Joseph Glin and his series of paintings inspired by "La Maison Des Mortes" by Guillaume Apollinaire. After filming Joe destroyed the paintings and closed his gallery, Shekhina, where the paintings were filmed.
