After ousting its corrupt leadership, one Chinese village grapples with the challenges of democracy. Wukan: After the Uprising tells the story of the village’s journey following its extraordinary victory. This four-part observational documentary series looks at the challenges of a community’s transition to democracy, through the eyes of former rebels now entrusted with the task of leading the village and regaining lost land. As the international press left Wukan after its historic vote, Al Jazeera stayed on to follow the newly elected village committee in action. Over the course of more than a year, filmmakers Lynn Lee and James Leong documented Wukan’s unique experience with democracy. From the high of the elections, to the grind of everyday work, to the dilemmas of leadership, this is a rare and intimate portrait of rural China in the midst of remarkable change.

After Dark was a British late night live discussion programme broadcast on Channel 4 television between 1987 and 1997, and on the BBC in 2003. Inspired by an Austrian programme called Club 2, Roly Keating of the BBC described it as "one of the great television talk formats of all time". In 2010 the television trade magazine Broadcast wrote "After Dark defined the first 10 years of Channel 4, just as Big Brother did for the second". Broadcast live and with no scheduled end time, the series was considered to be a groundbreaking reinvention of the discussion programme format. The programme was hosted by a variety of presenters, and each episode had around half a dozen guests, often including a member of the public. Guests would be selected to provoke lively discussion, and memorable conversations included footballer Garth Crooks disputing the future of the game with politician Sir Rhodes Boyson, MP Teresa Gorman walking out of a discussion about unemployment with Billy Bragg, and Oliver Reed drunkenly kissing Kate Millett during a programme that asked "Do Men Have To Be Violent?". The show ended in 1991 but a number of one-off specials and a BBC revival followed.

The After Show is the blanket title for several talk shows currently or previously aired by MTV originally connected to reality series it airs such as Laguna Beach and The Hills. Essentially an extension of the channel's flagship program MTV Live, the typical After Show features two of the former MTV Live hosts, most recently Jessi Cruickshank and Dan Levy, discussing the program immediately preceding with input from studio audience members, callers, emailers, and webcam participants. Many stars of The Hills, such as Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag, and Holly Montag have appeared in person on the show, while several others have participated in live phone or video interviews. The most recent format of the show included a discussion of entertainment news, fashion, and pop culture, While episodes following shows like The Hills were primarily based around the discussion of that particular program, episodes airing after no program in particular often discussed more varied aspects of popular culture. The After Show's finale aired following the final episode of The Hills on July 13, 2010. This episode was a special show broadcast live from Los Angeles, and many stars from the show including Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port, Kristin Cavallari, and Brody Jenner appeared. The last in-studio episode aired a week before. Shortly after, Dan Levy stated via Twitter that The After Show team decided to end the show on a high note, effectively confirming the show's end, at least in the form in which it had been known to that point.
