Desert, mythical, twilight. This visual contemplation is a kind of silent western about life in the landscape of Alentejo, a remote town in Portugal. Using Alentejo’s landscape as the canvas and the camera as an instrument for the expression of an original look, a cinematographic structure is created around references to the history of cinema, a revisiting of forms, styles and models that made the cinema and its more direct antecedents: photography, painting, music, theater.

It represents an entire era of culture ranging from the space race to the automobile to the emergence of the teenager. But today, in the age of the multiplex, the drive-in theater is a dinosaur. With hopes of better understanding the past, filmmaker Jon Bokenkamp and his ragtag crew hit the road. Using drive-in theaters as their only map, these four young men travel the backroads of America in search of a simpler time.

A native Bougainvillian, Clive, wants to illustrate the beauty of his Island and the changes which have taken place, since the war and the closure of Rio Tinto's Panguna mine. He show the little businesses, the school, which teaches the children their Mothers tongue, new founded tourist resorts and much more. During the interviews, Clive depicts how the indigenous population are creative trying themselves in business, which used to be only run by foreigners before the crisis. Further, he convey how the Bougainvillians see their future in gardening and tourism, letting the mineral resources rest in the ground while taking good care of their land so it can be passed on to future generations.

This is an animated music video for the Alternian ancestors--characters in the webcomic Homestuck whose epic story is only ever relayed via exposition. This gave me plenty of leeway for creativity, but I did my best to stay as true to what we're told as possible and I hope you enjoy it!

Michael an Armenian-American in his 30's is feeling a growing oblication to take care of his aging father, Leon, who had left a good job in Soviet Armenia to raise his children in the land of freedom. Michael has risen to become an assistant supermarket manager, but feels caught between family traditions and the outside world. His friends earn easy money on the wrong side of the law forcing Michael to face tough choices in finding his footing in this poignant, universal portrait of multi-generational immigration family's caught between indentifying with the past and the present.
