Jonathan, the doc's director, standing in front of a mirror recalls an event from his childhood, reflecting on the image he has of himself. To do this, he immerses himself in his past. All of this happens extremely fast, like the duration of a thought and the format of a micro short.

Since discovering cancer, Omar has lived with pain, the imminence of death, uncertainty about the future and the suffering of his family. The documentary is a punch in the stomach, a plea for help and a breath of hope for those who battle the disease.

The film centers on Ukrainian surgeon Serhiy, who is captured by the Russian military forces in the conflict zone in Eastern Ukraine, and while in captivity, he is exposed to horrifying scenes of humiliation, violence and indifference toward human life. After his release, he returns to his comfortable middle-class apartment and tries to find a purpose in life by rebuilding his relationship with his daughter and ex-wife. He learns how to be a human being again, how to be a father and help his daughter, who needs his love and support.

An elderly artist thinks he has become too stale and is past his prime. His friend (and agent) persuades him to go to an offshore island to try once more. On the island he re-discovers his muse in the form of a young girl.
