Pink floyd - Echoes > the Crystal Voyager footage - 1973 The closing sequence, Greenough's short film Echoes, is generally considered to be the highlight of the film. Filmed with a camera in a waterproof housing strapped to Greenoughís back, the sequence is composed entirely of slow-motion footage shot inside the curl of waves, edited to the 23-minute song "Echoes" by Pink Floyd. The group reportedly allowed Elfick and Greenough to use the music in their film in exchange for the use of Greenough's footage as a visual background when they performed "Echoes" in concert.
This musical documentary examines the impact of legendary rock band Pink Floyd's iconic 11th studio album The Wall, examining how the work was created, as well as how it affected not just the band, but music history to come.
Since many years Echoes, the band around guitarist and singer Oliver Hartmann (Avantasia, Hartmann, ex-Rock Meets Classic), is well known as frontman of the most popular and successful German Pink Floyd Tribute meanwhile touring across Europe and far beyond the borders of Germany. With their successful live DVD/CD "Barefoot To The Moon" (No. #20 at the Media Control Charts Germany 2015), recorded and arranged with pure acoustic instruments and supported by a four-piece string ensemble from Prague, the band has impressively shown that the original's great heritage can be interpreted in an interesting, inspiring and absolutely creative way. Now in early 2019, the group will release their successor and electrical continuation entitled 'Live From The Dark Side (A Tribute To Pink Floyd)", recorded live at 'Rock Of Ages Festival 2018' in Rottenburg-Seebronn, Germany.
Drawing on rare concert films, and penetrating interviews with the critics, this is the definitive exploration of the Pink Floyd phenomenon. Featuring extensive archive recordings, the key Pink Floyd works from the halcyon days of Syd Barrett through to Pulse are revisited and critically assessed.
