In October 2014, Kentucky hard rockers Black Stone Cherry brought their 'Magic Mountain' tour to Europe taking in shows in Scandinavia, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Ireland and the UK. This show from Birmingham's LG Arena was filmed on October 30th. The setlist features tracks from all four of their albums and includes all of their best known songs. Black Stone Cherry continue the long tradition of Southern Rock bands being great concert performers and have built a real affinity with their European fans in particular. Here in Birmingham they once again deliver a scorching live show.

Mara Burke is the last person alive on Earth as the entire world's population has been decimated by a plague. Day in and day out Mara scavenges for supplies and fights to survive. On this particular day she breaks down and decides it's time to end the struggle by taking her own life. She dawns a white dress, grabs a pistol and fills her bathtub with water. Mara sits in the tub, lets out one last cry and puts the gun to her chin. As she's about to pull the trigger, she hears 3 loud knocks. Mara is startled and not sure what to make of it, so she waits. The knocking continues. This time louder and more frantic. It's coming from the front door and it turns out that Mara is not alone after all.

Widespread Panic's annual Halloween show was certainly a special one. Performing some never-played-before cover songs, along with plenty of crowd pleasers, the band did not disappoint the crowd at the Aragon Ballroom.

At the end of 2020 I drove from Denver, Colorado to Philadelphia, PA with my father Ben. As we drove east, tracing a path that reversed the historical trajectory of westward expansion, we spoke about decolonization, climate change, and what we imagined might be next for our world.
