Nausicaa, the largest aquarium in Europe, aims to be a world leader when it comes to protecting our oceans, in particular, the “high seas”. Much more than just an ordinary aquarium, Nausicaa offers a unique gateway to the world’s oceans with its top-tier scientific research center. As such, it can be a key partner for the protection of species and serve as a model of innovation for the aquariums of the future.

Over the past 20 years, the Schwörer family has sailed around the world while sharing their expedition examples of nature’s true beauty and inspiring people to live in balance with nature. Along the way, their family has grown, with six children being raised on their sailboat.

A young boy goes to school only to awake two years later; he discovers not only did he lose his family but his best friend, Selena, is also missing. After being given clues on where to go, he finds himself traveling a route that takes him to the ocean, where he finds a small makeshift city.

Documentary about the work of Brazilian artist Adriana Varejão. With images collected over several years, scenes that pass through Inhotim —where there is her permanent gallery— Ouro Preto, Salvador, Bahia’s Recôncavo, Hong Kong, USA and Portugal; places chosen because they have a strong connection with the narrative of her work, the film reveals the creative process, the connections established and the many references present in the work of this unique artist.

A marine biologist, a dolphin trainer, a research scientist, and a local sheriff try to hunt down a large sea monster, a shark/octopus hybrid, that is devouring swimmers and fishermen off a south Florida coast.

The film will show the development process of the Chinese in Southeast Asia and their living conditions in various periods. It will use an open global perspective to sort out history and pay attention to the present, and strive to create a historical and humanistic documentary that can shed some light on the construction of the future development of Chinese society.

Ocean of Fear: Worst Shark Attack Ever is a television program that launched the 20th anniversary of the Discovery Channel's Shark Week of 2007. It was based around the incident of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis. The show initially aired on July 29, 2007, on the eve of the anniversary of the ship’s sinking in 1945. The show investigated the shark attacks that occurred when the USS Indianapolis sank. Hundreds of crew that survived were stranded in the water for four days before rescue. In that time many of the survivors endured constant shark attacks. The Discovery Channel hired George H. Burgess, a renowned investigator in shark attacks, to determine, "why the sharks attacked the way they did," and to "investigate the survival strategies of the men in the water, including those who fought the sharks."

A marine science fiction that follows Xiaohai, a 12 year old boy who exchanges souls with the aquarium's star sea lion—Candy.

Fujishita Kumi is an ordinary office lady. Longing to escape her poor fishing village for a life in the city, she came to Tokyo. One day while alone in the office, she's spotted rolling up her pantyhose by the window cleaner Kurata Katsuo. This was to be their first encounter. Completely enchanted by Kumi, Katsuo does everything he can to get close to her. Katsuo is a man with a terrible past. With the death of his coal miner father, his family was broken up and he was forced to follow in his father's footsteps laboring away in the mud. In spite of this, Katsuo still has dreams. He dreams of living in Resiporuko, a utopian fantasyland that exists only in his imagination. When Katsuo and Kumi finally meet they find themselves unable to communicate. Katsuo spends all his time talking about Resiporuko with a starry look in his eyes, while Kumi dreams of living the high life in the city. One day when the two travel to the seashore, they discover a wounded seagull.

Three classmates of the naval school met many years later in the Northern Fleet. Their fates were different. One of them became the commander of a cruiser, while the other two had complex personal problems. In these circumstances, everyone behaves differently, sometimes not opening up from the best side.

In late 2021, I set out on a unique sailing journey on the tall ship Bark Europa from Uruguay across the South Atlantic Ocean, towards South Georgia and Antarctica. For myself, the voyage was a long-awaited way of celebrating life again after my mother’s death in the spring of 2020. The crew and guests came from all over the world, and each had their own reasons for making the trip, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. One week into the trip, the ship ran into a massive storm and the main mast was struck by lightning. The intended itinerary was cancelled and we spent the next two weeks sailing directly to our end destination of Ushuaia, Argentina. This story is told by crew and passengers aboard the ship during the two weeks sailing towards Ushuaia after the lightning strike.

Oceans is an eight-part series on BBC Two, which seeks to provide a better understanding of the state of the Earth's oceans today, their role in the past, present and future and their significance in global terms. Paul Rose also documents some of the scientific observations his team made as a feature for BBC News.
