"Two years ago [c. 1997], Tato Kotetishvili went to Georgia, his birthplace, where he hadn't been for ten years. After he had come to Holland and found a partner in Rotterdam, the civil war started in Georgia so he was unable to return home. The reason to go home now was a video tape of his wedding, where many Georgian relatives, friends and acquaintances were gathered together. Kotetishvili wanted to know what had panned [sic] to them, how his family had come through the war.The result of this journey was Nostalgia, a personal documentary that shows in an associative style the effects of the civil war on the lives and mutual contacts of Kotetishvili's family. Kotetishvili found out that life in Georgia had changed; what he hoped to find was gone, had changed or become grounds for conflict. He felt an outsider in his own country. The Georgia he knew was only a memory.Kotetishvili died suddenly just after returning to Holland. His partner Ineke Smits completed Nostalgia."

In a post-apocalyptic world a lone man walks around a desolate city, surviving various obstacles while memories torment his mind.

In March and April of 2019, Zeng Dekuang and I spent more than 20 days traveling. Starting from the Wanzhou Sanhe Prison in Chongqing where his close friend Qin Yong was serving his sentence, we went to several places where he lived for a long time and lived in his childhood. The mountain villages in Wugang, Hunan, the city of Ningxiang where he lived in his youth, the county town of Zhongxian County in Chongqing, where he has been living for many years after graduation, and Daling Mountain in the Golden Town of Zhongxian County, and the ancient city of Phoenix where his wife and daughter now live. He Lu, an old friend, also went around for ten days, and De Kuang called it a homecoming trip.

At the age of 25, Qinghe returns from Shenzhen to her hometown, which has taken on a new look, prompting her to start a business. During the days spent with her grandmother in the countryside, Qinghe recalls what happened in the old house. She remembers her father, who died early, forgives her mother, who remarried, and finds comfort in her two friends.

Dazhongli is one of Shanghai's oldest neighborhoods. Shu Haolun's family has lived there for three generations, enjoying a close-knit, communal way of life with their neighbors. Now Dazhongli and its surrounding neighborhoods are in the process of being demolished to make way for gleaming skyscrapers, towering apartment complexes and luxury shopping centers. In NOSTALGIA, Shu relays vivid details of growing up among narrow alleys and courtyards murmuring with neighborhood gossip, back when Shanghai was still closed to the world. While sharing a wealth of memories, Shu uses his camera to capture the everyday details of his home before they are wiped out forever.

The “gaucho” tradition is considered here through the story of a couple who are now elderly and living in the hills of Northern Argentina. Starting with their daily routine, their gestures endlessly repeated throughout a life, we look at the details, like heating the water to prepare the mate, rearing goats, and sewing. Time seems to stand still. We also look at matter, the wood that forms the house, the mountainous and arid landscapes. Sometimes, the silence is broken by a prayer or a song that seems to weave the invisible link between the red earth and the starry sky.
