My Father S Land

"Hermann mein Vater" is a companion piece by director Helma Sanders-Brahms to her 1980 film "Germany Pale Mother". The latter work was focused on the impact of war on a German family. This made-for-tv documentary follows Sanders-Brahms and her father Hermann on a trip to Normandy, where he was stationed as a soldier in 1940-41.

With Gandhi My Father, producer Anil Kapoor and director Feroz Abbas Khan have shed light onto Gandhi the person, rather than Gandhi the icon. Using Gandhi’s political career as a canvas, the film paints a picture of his intricate, complex, and strained relationship with his son Harilal Gandhi.

This is a film made by Andriy Zagdansky about his father, the screenwriter Yevgeni Zagdansky, who was the editor-in-chief of the Kyivnaukfilm studio for almost 20 years. The story is interspersed with fragments of popular science films and letters from Yevgeni Zagdansky to his son in New York in the 1990s, creating a portrait of both the person himself and the whole era. My Father Evgeni is a film not just about the inevitable generational conflict and the pain of a father’s separation from his son, but also about the events of the 20th century, about people who read banned books, and about the Kyiv that shaped the Zagdanskys.

The film portrays the childhood and political inception of the father of the nation of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. The story-line apprises his outgrowth as the greatest Bengali of all time.

My father was a landowner’s son and an ex-Kuomintang Air Force pilot, who remained in mainland China after 1949. For survival, he tried to transform himself from a man of the ‘old society’ to a man of the ‘new society’. As his son, I started investigating his ‘history before 1949’, which he had kept away from me. This film documents the process of my investigation over twenty years.

A middle-aged man, an architect by trade, decides to make an end run around getting married. He marries a charming young woman, tenderly in love, who proves incapable of holding him back and, above all, of making him work. But a young American arrives in Paris and reveals that he is the architect's natural son. Eventually, the father is able to settle down, while the son, having acquired a taste for love, has a good time.

He expressed the idea that this issue should be a universal concern, while clearly stating that the care of parents has a special role in the development of children's morals.

On the age of 51, a father leaves his family to live as a carpenter. Away from the family and house burdens, he spends his last 15 years living alone. From the point of view of his child, the idealistic father then changes his mind to let go of everything and lives his dream of traveling.

Roger, editor of a women's magazine, meets Roberte, his friend Jean's former mistress, at a major couturier's during a collection presentation. A subtle combination of documentary and fiction filmmaking, Luo Li’s remarkable Rivers and My Father was inspired by stories from his father’s childhood. Li inventively structures sound, image and narration, evoking the ways in which memory operates.
