Second unit director Jonas Govaerts interviews Stanley, principle cast, and the producers about the making of the film. Wonderfully structured, “Hot Pink Horror” takes the audience through why this story was selected, how Stanley became director, how Cage became involved, why they shot the film in Sintra, Portugal, and much more. Even though 20 minutes doesn’t seem like much, Govaerts packs such a great deal of details on production, both creative and technical, that it’s almost a bit like a mini film school. If you really dug Color Out of Space, this is the piece to dive into and enjoy.
Featuring Interviews with Noel Cunningham, Sean S. Cunningham, Kane Hodder and Todd Farmer. Making Space is a film about trying to find oneself in the constant flow of change and renewal, navigating through the anxiety that comes with not knowing where ‘home’ is, and finally letting go of the need of finding one single person, place, or answer that will solve all your problems. It’s also a film about faces, closeness, and intimacy, and how a Super 8 camera allowed her to get closer to the people she was portraying while also keeping a protective distance. This film was part of a project commissioned by the Echo Park Film Center for the 20th anniversary of its location in LA. The project was supported by the Mike Kelley Foundation for the Arts. Making Space was shot in 2021, entirely on KODAK TRI-X Reversal Film.

MAKING SPACE captures the compelling stories and outstanding designs of Annabelle Selldorf (NY), Farshid Moussavi (London), Odile Decq (Paris), Marianne McKenna (Toronto), and Kathryn Gustafson (Seattle & London). Without script or narration, each woman tells her own story, enhanced by the insights of commentators including Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic Paul Goldberger; MoMA's Peter Reed and Paola Antonelli; and others. Meryl Streep makes a special guest appearance.
