Overly mature Betty Blythe is cast as the gamine-like granddaughter of a Turkish rabbi, who is taken out of her cozy environs by a music-hall star and transformed into a cabaret dancer. It isn't that she hates the work; it's simply that she feels she has turned her back on her people. Blythe is rescued by an elderly Jewish leader who takes her to a Zionist colony in Palestine. She marries her benefactor, but her heart remains with her true love back in Constantinople.

Finding inspiration in Kafka’s short text The Silence of the Sirens, in which he reinterprets Homer’s deadly songstresses as silent apparitions, Diana Vidrascu has created the mesmerising portrait of Céline, a young actress from Martinique living in Paris and struggling to find her place in the world. As she returns to her roots in order to explore her identity, we take the trip with her in this intimate story of origins and destinations.
Secret de Polichinelle roughly translates as Open Secret. The "secret" in question is an illegitimate child, the offspring of young-and-foolish Henri (Bernard Lacret). The baby is adopted by its grandparents, Monsieur and Madame Jouvenol (Raimu and Francoise Rosay). At first taking charge of the child because it is their duty, the Jouvenols come to love the little nipper as if he were their own son. At this point, the film threatens to drown in a morass of sentiment, but the actors and the director manage to stem the bathos with some first-rate comedy vignettes revolving around the care and feeding of the bouncing baby boy.
The white screen of the cinema projects the image of a film. However, as the brightness of the mind breaks through the night, in order to imprint this burst of light, it needs a black screen, becoming the never ending abyss of the imaginary, reflecting this spiritual enlightenment.
'Le Champagne de Rigadin' tells the story of two neighbouring couples who love to play petanque. One day, one of the men pulls a prank on his neighbours by leaving an explosive filled with water in their garden. His son tries to play the same kind of tricks, resulting in a less cheerful ending.

The debonair gentleman sets his wits to work to frustrate his rival's little game, and though he meets with several rebuffs in the end he is successful. Even then the rival, on the eve of his wedding, tries to turn the tables on Max, and very nearly succeeds, but with the little lady's help Max finally wins. The story is full of quaint and whimsical humour, which culminates in some exceedingly funny scenes before a mirror, in which Max sees strange visions.
