Well-respected Pompeiian Glaucus performs an act of kindness by purchasing Nydia, a blind slave being mistreated by her owner. Nydia falls in love with her new master, but he only has eyes for Ione. Ione in turn is lusted after by Arbace, an Egyptian high priest of Isis. When Nydia beseeches Isis for help in capturing Glaucus' heart, Arbace gives her a "love" potion-- an elixir made to drive Glaucus mad, securing Ione for himself. Ultimately, Mount Vesuvius will end their lives and seal their fates in a terrible, glorious eruption.

Carmine Gallone and Amleto Palermi’s The Last Days of Pompeii 1926 stages in sumptuous colour tinting the epic fall of the ancient city buried by Mount Vesuvius’ eruption. Adapted from Edward Bulwer-Lytton’s love story, the film was innovative in its special effects and an early major box-office hit. A beautiful tinted restoration print was prepared using photochemical processes by Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia-Cineteca Nazionale in the mid-1990s and the premiere screening of the restoration print was held in the amphitheatre in Pompeii, followed by a screening at the major restoration festival ‘Il Cinema Ritrovato’ in Bologna in 1998.

“The Last Day of Spicy Jack” is a 16mm sci-fi short comedy about the unusual love story between the waitress of a Chinese Takeaway by the space highway, and the Space Cowboy who enters the Inn with the intention of robbing the place. Ultimately, the new born couple will run away together leaving the other waitress to wonder about the latest series of mysterious disappearances. The film is a satire of real life cinema, with a combination of gore, surreal, spaghetti western and b-graded movies’ elements. The movie is about the disappearances of friends once they fell in love and get into a relationship.
