The film immerses us in the imaginary world of witchcraft crimes. This historical Swiss documentary reveals the workings of a hellish judicial machinery that put thousands of men, women and children at the stake.

The Lourmel couple are taking part in the final round of a TV game show: the wife has to answer questions; if she fails, her husband drives a racing car to make up the lost minutes. Moments before the start of the show, a phone call informs Lourmel that her six-year-old son has been kidnapped, and that the ransom is the amount to be won on the game show.

The three female protagonists present their personal relationship with intravenous drug use, and their intimate confessions are filled with fear and insecurity but also love for the state of intoxication. Ambient music in the background and colourful textures multiplying over shots of the everyday reality of drug users create an almost dreamlike world. “I won’t feel the full effects the whole night, but it will help take my mind off things.”

A fight of every moment against the decay of the body, observed and commented with a methodical care in his autobiographical novels, in particular "To the Friend Who Did Not Save My Life" (1990) and "The Compassionate Protocol" (1991), and of which he testified on television on the set of "Apostrophes"...

Ultimately saved by her relationship with man who allows Irina to finally escape her Tormented past. The film remains theatrical in its style and form.
