Three years ago, a disappearance case, known as the "Joker Case," was suddenly closed without being solved. Ichiro Kunishita, an investigator from the Public Security Bureau of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department who was called for a reunion of the investigation, is ordered to take on a completely different mission. He is assigned to spy on and monitor Shiro Hanabusa, the young head of a designated gang clan. He is said to be a man of many mysteries who has risen to the rank of Wakagashira (young leading subordinate in yakuza group) since he joined the gang three years ago. In the course of his mission to get close to Shiro, Ichirou learns a shocking fact, and decides to make a fake "lover's contract" with him. Their secret investigation into the case gradually leads them to an incident that will shake the nation and their destiny.

George Carter, a revolutionist in South America, is the exact double of Frederick Marston, a famous artist in Paris. Carter is betrayed by a comrade and is sentenced to be shot. He takes a desperate chance and escapes on board a vessel bound for London. In Paris Marston is stabbed by a model because he does not return her love. The wound incapacitates him from painting, and leaves an ugly scar, and he goes to America on a vacation. Highwaymen attack him, inflicting injuries which cause a total loss of memory. The robbers leave nothing in his pockets but the key to his Paris studio, and Marston adopts the name of Robert Anglo-Saxon.

Key to the Ages was the name of an American television series that was broadcast on the now-defunct DuMont Television Network between February and May 1955. Hosted by Dr. Theodore Low, the program aired from February 27 to May 22, 1955. This literary series originated from WAAM-TV in Baltimore, and may have also aired on ABC stations. The series should not be confused with the similarly titled Key to the Missing, a documentary series which aired on DuMont from 1948-1949. Key to the Ages lasted only a few months on the air; just a little over one month after the program debuted, in April 1955, the DuMont Television Network began shutting down network operations. This made Key to the Ages one of the last DuMont Network programs. Key aired until May 22, 1955; DuMont itself ceased network operations in August 1956.

Key to the Missing was a TV series which aired on Fridays at 7pm EST on the DuMont Television Network from 4 July 1948 to 23 September 1949. Each 30-minute episode was hosted by Archdale Jones. The series interviewed people looking for long-lost friends and relatives. The series was typical of TV programming of the time, when the major TV networks were trying out various untested concepts and ideas. Although short-lived, the basic concept has been re-used many times since, usually by independent TV stations and small TV networks. Where Are They Now, the radio program on which the series was based claimed a 68 percent success rate.
