This video-poem projects my own thoughts and feelings musing in voice of my mother to tell parts of her story previously untold. I imaged her writing in a journal while being institutionalized at Chicago-Read Mental Health Center when she was a teenager. Through a collection of episodic journal entries and poetic investigations, the voice of the young artist Amanda Cervantes reenacts the queer, Latina youth of Lourdes Benavides or Lulu, my mother. Rather than embody her they reflect a psychic space and interiority; the private place of reflection and consciousness muted by the institution and the insidious powers of homophobic and patriarchal Western culture.

The writer's intimate diary from October '96 to March '97, to the rhythm of animated sequences from day to day, according to events, sensations, memories, moods...

Pål Hollender recounts the experience of being abused by the father of a childhood friend. In abrupt shifts he is alternately the narration’s subject and object, the criminal and the case history, a fictional character and a real-life human being, pathologized and abandoned in a field of anonymous authority.

Two best friends retrace their steps after a seemingly average night in hopes of locating a missing item. As their accounts diverge, an ongoing rift in their relationship is illuminated.

The present Journal on air is based on the 2006 rebrand when Germany hosted the 2006 FIFA World Cup and DW was rebranded also at the time and the Journal as well. The music, studio and graphics of the Journal presently is based on the 2006 version and kept until present day.

Dr. Hudson's Secret Journal is an American medical drama which aired in syndication from 1955 to 1957. It was based on the book of the same name by Lloyd C. Douglas, that was a prequel to his Magnificent Obsession. A total of 78 episodes were produced. In 1955 a nationwide competition was held in TV Guide to find a young actor to play Dr. Hudson's protégé, Tim Watson, for several episodes. those entering had to submit a photo and recording in which they read emotional dialogue. The winner was a young actor named Joe Walker.

On February 27, 2009, pupil Benjamin Feller commits a crime which he has meticulously described beforehand in a diary entry. He goes to the post office to send the diary entry to his teacher before he shoots his parents and turns himself in to the police. His teacher Esther Fontanel tries to understand the events in retrospect. But as the journal’s addressee, she is increasingly targeted by the police herself.

To fill the absence of his six-year-old daughter living in Berlin, a Montreal filmmaker keeps a film diary which takes him back to his relationship with his adoptive father and his biological father, whom he never knew. His diary also becomes a reflection on cinema by revisiting the work of filmmakers who influenced him such as Ingmar Bergman and Wim Wenders. Diary of a Father is a poetic response to making the separation between a father and his child bearable.
