Dead of night in a residential area. The crickets' chirping is interrupted by a strange presence, a slithering creature lurking in the darkness. An extraordinary interplay of light and shadow and a prodigious sound design in a short film full of sheer horror.

During a trip to China with Vincent to meet people in art schools and universities, I discovered the work of Deng Guo Yan, the director of the Tianjin school of contemporary art. A painting style that seemed to me to be a mix of traditional Chinese painting, Claude Monet and Cy Twombly, and which I liked. The black and white of his large ink brush paintings on paper, almost the size of a mural, made it possible for me to jump from black and white to colour in this film, as I had done in the Recueil but with other connotations: with excerpts from Jean Renoir in Aline Cézanne, photos of Le Havre destroyed in Papa, Maman, Perret et moi, and infrared images taken by Georges-Arthur Goldschmidt in Le Paysage pour témoin”.

Suzie loves going with her parents to the allotment garden where each plot is so different from the others. One day, a big black dog and a blue key take her to a mysterious garden.

Elena goes home to the village, located on the front line in the "gray zone" of the Donetsk region, where she spent her childhood. In the garden, so that weeds do not climb on neighboring areas, her brother planted mustard. The girl lies down in the prickly grass and remembers how large and tasty apricots, cherries, pears and cherries were once.

A Traveltalk visit to Portugal's autonomous island group in the Atlantic Ocean. We learn that many of the things associated with the islands were actually instituted by British explorers who visited the island several hundred years before the Portuguese. This includes embroidered fabrics, wicker chairs, and the islands' world famous wine.

Our world is a beautiful garden of incredible colors, and it is understandable to anyone who can forget about what monsters can live here.

Leyla and her six-year-old daughter Nila live in the holy city of Mashhad in Iran. Nila is the result of a temporary marriage, which allows a man to marry a woman even if he is already married. Children born from such a relationship are legally non-existent. As long as the father does not recognize the child, no birth certificate can be issued and Nila cannot attend school. The documentary depicts Leyla's tireless efforts to clarify Nila's legal status in order to offer her a perspective for her future. In a never-ending bureaucratic battle, Leyla fights not only against the legal system, but also against a judgmental society.

The wild Jon Esping bets that he will become a churchwarden. He, the upstart and the illiterate who can only write his name, a fox in business, a stud among women and a brute in general, wins the bet.

The title Un enano en el jardin is an allusion to the Super 8 format and the setting where the actions that comprise the film unfold. A catalogue of extreme experiments with the mobility of the camera coordinated with brief improvisations by the Brazilian dancer Alice Bloch. It was mostly filmed with an Instamatic m22 camera (possibly the simplest and lightest Super 8 camera, with a fixed lens and manual diaphragm), so resistant that it functioned in conditions that would be unthinkable with a more complex camera, rotating at high speed around the optical axis or tied to a 35mm reel rewinder.
