A trip down memory lane

The story of two friends who met on the eve of their fiftieth birthday: musician Astor Piazzolla and architect José Pons. They never imagined that their friendship would change their lives forever.

About life and artistic path of the Ural poet Alexey Reshetov (1937-2002), a man of unique destiny and unique talent. For most of his adult life, he worked as an electrician at one of the potash mines in the city of Berezniki. There he began to write poetry and gradually publish, first in local newspapers, then in Perm and Yekaterinburg. He never lived to fame in the capitals and great regalia but managed to have a strong influence on the spiritual formation of several generations of his readers.

The first film of documentary trilogy «Black Candle of the Bright Road. In memory of Vasyl Stus» covers the events of Vasyl Stus's life from birth to the beginning of the 70s. It contains interviews with his mother Iryna Stus, comrade Vasyl Shymanskyi, Roman Korohodskyi, Vyacheslav Chornovil, Mykhailyna Kotsyubynska, Marharyta Dovhan and others, photos from the times school and institute studies, army service, postgraduate study at the Institute of Literature, fragments from letters and essays.

The film was shot in 1989 by Lívia Gyarmathy and Géza Böszörményi about a judge who had had a successful career back in the '50s. He resigned from his position as home secretary on 12th December 1956 and chose to do physical work for a while. However, in the period before his resignation he had sentenced many to die, and not just ones he believed were guilty. The confessions of the judge show a fragment of the psychology of tyranny.

In the mid-50s of the last century, at the dawn of the Khrushchev thaw, an unknown young director Grigory Chukhray, whose debut - the film "Forty - first" - became a bid for big cinema, quickly and boldly broke into the Soviet cinema. Then, one after another, followed "The Ballad of the Soldier", "Clear Sky", which became a real breakthrough to historical truth and an example of civic courage.

A German film crew for station NDR [Norddeutscher Rundfunk] picked the perfect time to visit New York City for their street gang documentary, LEFTY - ERINNERUNG AN EINEN TOTEN IN BROOKLYN, as the area sweltered through a brutal summer heatwave and the infamous 1977 blackout. For five weeks, director Max H. Rehbein and his crew actually lived in the basement of a Brooklyn house owned by the parents of 'Brother Lou' [Louie Morales], the leader of 'The Sex Boys' (named after the street they hung out on, Essex -- after dropping the first two letters), filming many of that gang's most private moments.

OV version of the comic "Summer Memories" based on Naoki Yamamoto. Kawanaka (acted by Takuji Suzuki), who was arrested in another case, started talking about the murder school girls. Detective Kuroda is gradually at the mercy of Kawanaka's madness...

This portrait of East German sculptor and graphic artist Fritz Cremer (1906-1993) shows the artist at work in his studio and some of his art works, including sculptures for his Buchenwald Memorial. It accompanies the images with a text by Bertolt Brecht, read by actor Wolfgang Heinz of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin.

Ido and Amalia Rosenblum’s father, Adam Baruch, was born to an orthodox family and became a central figure in Israel’s mass media culture. His intense lifestyle led to his untimely death, leaving his children with questions about the gap between their private dad and the gloomy public figure who had quite a few critics. To answer these questions, they collected thousands of items from their father’s archive, and built a unique exhibition space, to which they invited key figures from Baruch’s life who help them piece together the different parts and create a more complete picture of their father.

The Memory of NiAvaran is a documentary that examines the ancient times of Shemiranat village and Niavaran region, and besides the anthropological observation of the people of this region, it also pays special attention to the Niavaran palace complex. The events of Niavaran Palace and its capture during the Iranian revolution are also considered in this film.
