“Chervona Ruta is the first youth festival of Ukrainian song. In September 1989, it made its debut in Chernivtsi, the hometown of the famous singer and composer Volodymyr Ivasyuk. At that time, dozens of Ukrainian bands made a name for themselves, and both popular and rock music was performed. At Chervona Ruta-1989, despite the close attention of the Soviet secret services, the flags of Ukraine were constantly raised and the Ukrainian anthem was played. The eyewitnesses tell how it was. The stars will share their memories of the first Chervona Ruta, the mood of Ukrainians, and their feelings of the beginning of a new era in Ukrainian music.

Since the day I was born is composed through a reflection on remorse and the search for mental liberation from the death of the individual. In the short film, barely two minutes long, an anonymous man remembers all the moments in which he has failed in the game of life; moments in which he has made mistakes, or has chosen the wrong option, harming someone close to him or himself, while his body hangs from a rope and is little by little deprived of oxygen. He regrets what he has experienced since the day he was born, but he also regrets the drastic decision he has just made.
The footage of the film shows Joniškis, Kriukai and Žagarė, places of large Jewish communities before the war. The locals remember the Jews, and tell about the tragedy that befell them during the years of fascist German occupation.
The end of the Soviet Union has made its mark, not only on Georgia’s politics, society, and economy, but also on Tbilisi’s urban architecture. Regimented blocks have acquired slipshod DIY extensions; buildings arise with no overall plan; and construction projects that were abandoned halfway have left functionless gaps. Mistakes are made and not always corrected. Urban sprawl is thus changing the appearance of the city.

A long-term observation from 1977-1980, focusing on the apprentice Gerd and his family. Gerd wants to become an electrician, but after several rejections he accepts an apprenticeship as a lathe operator at Ford. In the first two years he works in an apprentice workshop, in the third year he has to go into production; from now on he is under a lot of pressure, because the company keeps the decision as to whether to take on an apprentice as a normal employee open until the last moment. When Gerd talks about the apprenticeship at home and criticizes the training, his parents reprimand him. They say: You'd better put something away! He shouldn't stand out in the company. The work of a lathe operator is increasingly being taken over by automatic machines. Gerd realizes that he is learning a trade that no one will need any more soon.
