Hell Train is a French film based on a true story. One evening at a ball in a small town, a fight breaks out in an atmosphere tinged with racism. Kumiko Ijima is a very timid girl who happens to recognize a murderer still in pursuit at a park. With the help of her friend Kyoko Inaba, she warns the police about the wanted man. After trying to escape the police by car, the murderer crashes and ends up in the hospital. Some time later, a mysterious entity starts to terrorize the neighborhood in search of a girl who has the name initials K.I. and uses a red ribbon on her hair.

The story is set soon after the reunification of West and East Germany, and is about the disintegrating relationship between Jockel a political activist and Stefan a heroin junkie, and their involvement with a bisexual Micha. A 2nd plot line is concerned with Micha's young son Sascha, and his life in a rundown world of drugs and poverty. His fascination with the creepy, exhibitionist puppeteer Firlefanz, whose grotesque puppets enact a gay fairy tale paralleling the relationship of Stefan and Jockel. Central to the disintegration of these characters is the drug dealer Ingolf, who 'pulls their strings' with heroin, instead of puppet wires.

A nurse working at a hospital is looking forward to her marriage with a handsome doctor. But she is open minded as she also is having an affair with a pretty student nurse. One day a former patient invites her to her house. But when she enters it appears that a robbery is taking place. Two masked men grab her, bind her with rope and proceed to violate her repeatedly while photographing the whole ordeal. She is released but is soon blackmailed into returning for intensive B&D training. Can she keep up the premise of a happy marriage without succumbing to depravity of the rope and the lash?

The story concerns four animals fighting to expel war from the earth. Though based on the "Band of Bremen (Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten)", Tezuka Osamu's fans could easily associate the story with "The Amazing Three." The cat, dog, donkey, and chicken who transform into human beings with the power of spacemen and fight to save the earth are entirely reminiscent of the three characters in the "Amazing Three" who transform themselves into animals and devote all their energies to saving the earth.
