AI image generators are like we've taken a deep dive into the subconscious... or we've slipped into another level of reality.
A surrealist re-imagining of Orientalist artwork; a subliminal retelling of the colonialist, western male gaze and its hyper- sexualised representation of Middle Eastern femininity.
Strung between a majestic landscape of wide-angle black and white shots and the impurity of a composite universe of sound, POSTCARDS FROM THE VERGE unfolds in five chapters as a sensory and abstract study of the Wall and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

A short-film of symphonic turmoil, composed of 79 verbal fragments and the images that pollute their semantics, crumbling atop one another to project back amidst ear-splitting dissonance what it feels like to consume the westernized 21st century, as it unfolds and narrativizes itself before us.

While editing the sound for Thom Andersen's Get Out of the Car, I realized that many of the images had different meanings for me than for him. So I took 14 scenes, made them all 30 seconds, and created my own non-specific narratives, though traditional sound design. (C.S.)

An indigenous construction worker has led a distasteful life, until he meets a young hooker, and starts a poetic journey of love⋯ Postcard is Cheng's first short film, which elegantly presents the situation of the lower class with songs and poems.
"The palm trees on the reverse are a delusion; so is the pink sand". This line, taken from a poem by Margaret Atwood, lights the path traced in "Postcard". As the years go by, landscapes transform, take on new meanings, and hold onto joys that will never be regained. The sea and the beach, once stages of happy summers, romances, and encounters, will turn into concentration camps or centers of detention and torture. This occurs across different times and places. In this piece, I embark on a journey through some of my works that explore the relationship between testimony, spaces, and time, engaging in dialogue with the beautiful film directed by Alejandro Segovia in 1972.
Postcards From Babylon is a long-form documentary featuring author and pastor, Brian Zahnd, as he investigates possibly the most important question for the church in North America today: How does the church stay faithful to the beautiful way of Jesus while situated in one of the most divisive political climates in our nation's history? The film explores how Christians seeking proximity to power has led to a hyperpartisan Nationalistic posture that is demonstrably hindering the witness of Christ. As exiled citizens of a superpower nation, Christians' deepest allegiance must be to the peaceful Kingdom of God, and from that posture they must always speak truth to power...no matter the cost.

Postcards from Buster centers on Buster traveling to various places around North America, usually in the United States but also in the Caribbean, Canada – and other places – with his father, who is a pilot for a group of musicians. In each episode Buster meets children in the location, who show him aspects of their family lives and local culture. The sequences with Buster are animated, while the portions featuring the children are live action (viewed from the viewpoint of Buster's video camcorder). After each trip, Buster sends to Arthur a "video postcard" videotape summarizing what he's done and who he's met in each location. The children and their families that are presented on the series are meant to be multicultural and diverse, and range from a Mormon family in Utah to a Mestizo family in Texas.
