We see a door which is marked "Jerry - Builder and Decorator." Jerry is in his office sitting with his feet on the table smoking a cigar. He blows smoke rings which do little tricks. He looks at the audience and taps the ash off his cigar. The telephone rings and makes Jerry jump - he looks cross. We see Jerry and the person he is speaking to in little circular cut-outs placed on another image of a landscape with telegraph poles stretching off into the distance. The man Jerry is speaking to is wearing a dressing gown and a funny little hat - possibly Scottish. The man says: "I want you to paper the parlour." Jerry nods and replies: "I'll be on the job in ten minutes!" Jerry attempts to put a wallpaper table together. Slapstick stuff ensues. It keeps collapsing.
Over the Kingdom of Romanda there reigned a King who was greatly influenced by his favorite, whom he devotedly loved. He presents her with a necklace of fabulous worth and enjoins that she never part with it, which command she swears by the stars to keep. About this time an impecunious cousin of the King calls to beg the loan of money, which is refused. The favorite promises to intercede for him. The cardinal and the favorite are bitter enemies because of her thwarting many of his pet schemes, and he plans a revenge by inciting jealousy in the King. The scheme he devises is to have the necklace missing and found in the cousin's pocket. The plan succeeds so well that the King condemns the seemingly guilty pair to an air-tight chamber, where they would have suffocated to death had not the lady-in-waiting, who helped in the plot, become horror-stricken and confessed.
Broncho Billy is sent on a secret mission to a small Arizona town. There he meets a beautiful girl, Elizabeth Barton, who is betrothed to a handsome daredevil, Juan Martin, of the Bar-O Ranch. Broncho is given a job by the foreman, George Chisholm. At a dance Martin and another cow-puncher quarrel. Martin draws his gun but Broncho Billy interferes. Martin is enraged and attempts to shoot Broncho. He takes the gun from him, takes the cartridges out and hands it back. Martin plots with the cook and other members of the outfit to poison the coffee of the foreman and steal the cattle. He hopes to throw the blame for the murder and theft on Broncho Billy.
