History Channel tells the story of two flawed secret weapons programs of the Soviet Union. During the Cold War, the Soviet Union boasted of the superiority of its weapons. A look at the inner workings of the Soviet military-industrial system reveals shortcomings in weapons systems that never lived up to their promises. For the entire period of the Cold War, a large proportion of the Soviet Union’s economy and massive scientific establishment was dedicated to the development and refinement of new and better weapons. During the 50s and 60s, the Soviet government’s paranoia about Western technical superiority was at its height.
Join Lord and Lady Savile's shooting party for a day's sport and socialising on the moors near Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire It's a fine day at Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, and the Topical Budget newsreel cameras are along for some shooting and hobnobbing with Lord and Lady Savile. The often repetitive activities of the nobility were perennially popular with the newsreels, which erred on the side of the Establishment. This well-photographed item offers a fascinating glimpse at social life for the 1920s upper classes. The splendidly moustachioed Sir John Lumley-Savile, 2nd Baron Savile - seen descending the steps at the start and then shooting from a hide - is surprisingly sprightly given that he would have been nearly 70 at the time of this film. He was the illegitimate son of the 8th Earl of Scarbrough, and had his seat at Rufford Abbey in Nottinghamshire. His second wife, Esme Grace Virginia Wolton, is seen watching the men shoot.
The pheasant's summer holiday draws to a close as shooting season begins on this Norfolk game reserve. Pheasant season gets off with a bang - followed by many more - as the landed folk of Norfolk take aim. For pheasants the red ring on the calendar is 1 October each year; few creatures fear the end of the summer months more than game birds bred to be blasted, but at least these poor creatures got to appear in the newsreels.
"Angelin Preljocaj, Topologie de l'invisible" offers 3 films corresponding to 3 choreographies. 1.- Annonciation (2003), directed by Angelin Preljocaj. Annonciation dances the encounter between the Angel Gabriel and Mary, when the angel announces that she is God’s chosen one – an essential scene of conception, of the birth of faith and culture. 2.- Les Raboteurs (1988), directed by Cyril Collard. A contemporary couple in an empty room in a Parisian. They talk of love, vision, points of view and illusion. Is what these three dancers on the wooden have frozen in space with their choreographed movements and the positions of the three workers in Gustave Caillebotte’s painting The Floor Scrapers? 3.- Un trait d'union (1992), directed by Angelin Preljocaj. Adaptation of La Chambre by Jean-Paul Sartre. A story of a woman who has married and her second husband has turned insane. Her whole surrounding urges her to let the man be transported into an asylum, yet she refuses.
"Ave, Patrick Topaloff !" is a film that parodies an advertisement for Bahlsen candy bars sold in theaters during intermission. The protagonist of this advertising parody, which we hear in the soundtrack of the film, is singer and radio man Patrick Topaloff.
Also known as the Midnapore creeper, phang is a robust, woody climbing shrub with creamy white flowers, which grows during the monsoon in the Narmada Valley—the traditional boundary between North and South India. Mhari Topli Ma: Phang is set amid the region’s tribal villages, and introduces us to Kehendi Bai and family, who cook highly nutritious phang leaves with moong dal (lentils) and also relish them as an ingredient of jowar roti (millet bread). But, although these dishes remain a favourite with the older generation—who even prefer them over fish and meat—younger people are losing the knowledge of how to prepare them, due to both changing lifestyles and tastes.
PATCHING TOPIAS is an animated essay, which addresses collapsology and collapse theories of industrial civilization. While entangling documentary and autobiographical approaches, this animated film traces the different intellectual and emotional paths crossed during a long journey in "Collapsotopia". Its artisanal and solitary manufacturing is part of a desire for low-tech self–sufficiency adapted to the context of its realization – first confinement - as well as its object.

Bill Elliot emulates his idol William S. Hart in the superior western Topeka. Elliot plays the archetypal Good Bad Man, hired to kick the crooked element out of a small town. A hard-drinking, hard-living man, Elliot entertains thoughts of taking over the town himself for the benefit of his own gang. After several reels of soul-searching, Elliot decides to honor his promise to clean up the town for its decent citizens. Evidently director Thomas Carr rented a camera crane for this Allied Artists production, since the camera performs remarkable calisthenics, the kind not normally seen in a medium-budget western.
