Harin (19), a repeater, wanders because she cannot find what she wants to do. For her, who dreamed of traveling to a distant city, a theater ticket comes in instead of leave city. Curiosity and passion for acting begin to sprout in Harin's heart after seeing an actress performing on stage. Invited to the theater company's practice room, Harin becomes more and more immersed in acting. Harin begins to step on the path of an actor step by step with the desire to be applauded on stage, but obstacles that can never be overcome appear in front of her.

The boy sleeps, curled up like an embryo in the white space of the frame, and with him faith is born again.

The film is a cinema version of the popular TV series of the same title.

Using astounding footage from the Luce archives (newsreels, but also true films) Il sorriso del capo/The Smile of the Leader shows how propaganda works, presents everyday life in its most revealing details, and describes a country's "education". Marco Bechis explores the feeling of consensus: he tells us where it originates, what tools are used to spread it, how it is opposed. The thread running through the film is a voice, enigmatic until the end, narrating in the first person what it is like to grow up under fascism.

A look at reality as it appears today in the streets and cities as an image of the crisis and decline of western society in the era of globalization. Between wealth and poverty, between homologation and loss of identity, between reality and illusion, nothing more than a great fairy tale, a deception, a collective lie of which the representation of daily life becomes its disturbing metaphor. As disturbing as the smile of Alice's Cat in Wonderland, who, at the girl's request for help to find the way that leads her out of the woods, replies with her characteristic grin: "It all depends on where you want to go". Several students spend their last days of high school in a cheerful and musical atmosphere. Petrica and 'Sunny Smile', who has become a fairy tale princess in the meantime, find their way back to each other, from the real world to the dream one and the other way around, in order to meet their love halfway between the two realms.

The Smile, the new group comprising Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood and Sons Of Kemet's Tom Skinner, played three consecutive live shows within twenty-four hours at Magazine London, in the heart of London's Docklands, on January 29 and 30.
