A life consumed with anxiety is never easy.

Anita an ex junkie moves with her husband to an isolated wind blown coastal town hoping to leave her out of control drug fueled past behind her. Her laddish, bad tempered husband is not sensitive to Anita's emotional needs and her new life does not seem to fulfill her. In her utter isolation in the misty lonely endless beach she falls victim to terrifying demoniac visions from which she will need to liberate herself before her real new life can begins.

Riad, a middle-aged man, holds a firearm shop in a neighbourhood of Beirut. When he meets up with his friends or goes hunting with them, it is often with the aim of evoking together their memories of the civil war fought in the Christian militia. They live in nostalgia for the war that impassioned their youth. Director Myriam El Hajj builds solid architectural images that interrogate — and, perhaps, over time even manage to articulate — the intimate origins of violence that never seems to depart and a past that doesn't want to let go of the present.

The film “Short stories of restoration” created by the Acropolis Restoration Service (YSMA) to accompany the photographic exhibition “Chisel and Memory: the contribution of marble craftsmanship to the restoration of the Acropolis monuments” which was hosted at the Acropolis Museum. The film uses footages of the audiovisual archive of the YSMA and the personal testimony of marble technicians who took part in the works, to shed light to the everyday life in the worksite, the contribution of marble craftsmen to the restoration works, and the emotions that they experience and share during the interventions.

The time that Rests is a contemplative look at the daily life of the José Horwitz Barak Hospital, one of the oldest psychiatric facilities in Chile, located in the north of Santiago. It is not a film about madness, but about the passing of time in a certain place, which is reflected in simple things, in faces, in objects, nature, places, details, the humanity of the people portrayed. It is a film where every subtle visual and sound element becomes relevant.

Granny Di makes a meagre living out of recycling cardboard and found objects on the street, carrying the ashes of her late husband wherever she goes. As the going gets tough, she is reduced to stealing and selling sacrificial offerings from the funeral home. Ellen Liu plays the desolate and desperate Granny Di, rendering a lively and moving performance with a human touch. The short brings us through the nooks and crannies of Hung Hom district, chronicling a sorrowful tale about forsaken old age.
